Hello! Due to not being officially released on modern platforms, I have to use an emulator to play the original Game Boy Tetris. But I would much rather play it on the 3DS, and I know it WAS available on the eshop for a few years. However, Im afraid of hacking my 3DS as I still use the eshop and Pokemon Bank, and I do not want to get banned. Is there any way to hack it, get Tetris, and remove the hack before going back online? Will doing that still get me banned?

Sorry if this is a really dumb question

Since tetris is going to be installed in a pirated manor. Once you remove the cfw, its going to render the game unplayable since it wont have a proper signature for the console to read.

Ah, I see. Oh well, thought it was worth a shot. Thank you!

I understand you don't want to hack your 3DS, but you want to run an emulator that can launch the original Game Boy version of Tetris. I'm no expert, but I would try one of those Chinese flash carts, and run the DS Game Boy emulator "GameYob" on it. Basically you are tricking your 3ds into believing that it's running a DS game cartridge, but you are actually running a DS emuiator that will allow you to play Tetris inside a Game Boy emulator. I have never tried this myself. Check this out: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ds-i-3d...-ds-i-games-and-ds-i-menu-replacement.472200/

You can still safely use the eShop and Pokemon Bank after installing CFW. Additionally, once you have CFW, you can use PKSM as a free Pokebank replacement that will probably outlive Pokebank itself.
Really? That's nice to hear! I guess my last question is, what causes you to get banned then?

Tetris is only a few dollars preowned and a GBC won't set you back much.
There's also Tetris DX which is the same gameplay but with full color and saves your highscore. DX doesn't have the classic Type A theme though.

Thats true, but I'd rather have all the games in the same place. Thats why I want Tetris on 3DS, so it can be with Mario Land and Mario Land 2.

I do know about Tetris DX! I was actually thinking about injecting it on to the 3DS, if I end up using homebrew. Thanks for the suggestion though!

From what I've read, cheating online is the only 100% sure thing that will do it. I don't think anything else you do matters, though you can always disable spotpass and sending of info in Settings if you're feeling cautious. You can also choose not to share what games you're playing in your Friends List settings.
