I saw a comment by FAST6191 on on 64 GB SD cards coming hard to come by.

Alot of legacy hardware and consoles and consoles like the Wii, DSi, flash carts, psp, old digital cameras, even some 3d printers only supported SD cards to a certain capacity.

Are we supposed to just get SD cards lower capacities in case they stop making the lower capacity ones?

Are we supposed to get any extra 2GB regular SD cards? And 32GB SDHC to have incase the ones we have fail

if the device doesn't support newer standard, and the older standards aren't being produced anymore, then I guess yeah, you might need to stock up if you want to make sure you have them in the future

though, a lot of devices that claim to only support sdhc up to 32 gb actually do support higher capacity sdxc cards, as long as they're formatted to fat32. but I guess it's maybe possible that some devices might be unable to read sdxc no matter how it's formatted (can't really find info on that, but I know sd to sdhc was a problem, so you never know...)

also if you want to be pedantic, the psp didn't use sd cards ;p but people are getting 128gb and even 256gb cards working with a memory stick pro duo adapter, so I think psp wont be a concern

With larger sizes that are still being manufactured, the only choice we'll end up having is resorting to using micro SD cards with SD adapters.

For 2GB cards (non-SDHC devices), only used, new-old stock, and China will be our options.
