Hacking Getting a black screen on wii system menu

Ok, so I just used WiiSCU to update the shop channel (just chose IOS 61 and shop channel, nothing else) on my 4.2 menu (upgraded through one of the guides on here), and now whenever I go into the wii setting under 'menu' I get a black screen with the menu music still playing in the background. No error message, just a black screen - and neither the wiimote nor the reset button will get out of it; I need to hold in the console's power button.

Any idea what went wrong, or how to fix it?

If you can access the Wii menu, but not the settings, you seem to have semi-bricked it somehow.

Download your system menu again (using NUSD, in wad form) and install it with wad manager.
Be sure to get the system menu from your version AND region!

never used wad manager before, or nusc.

do I need to download any IOS' with it?

Gus, you could use AUTO NUS downloader, its pretty good..
