OK I have a phat PSP and GEN-D3.
I want to downgrade from GEN to M33
Anyone care to give me links/tuts on how to do it?
I don't really trust the ones I got from Google.
The results were from like 1 year ago.
    Thanks in advance [IMG]

Hellcat's Recovery Flasher. I don't remember if this is the right place but put the 500.pbp in the same folder as it. Run it and follow the instructions.

actually you put the 500.pbp in the root of the memory stick and hellcats recovery flasher in the GAME folder.

EDIT: Oops, fail. Boxshot beat me to it. XD But yeah, the 500.PBP file needs to be on the root of the Memory Stick.

Just downloaded Hellcat's recovery flasher. I'm confused though. The one I downloaded does not include instructions.

Press install m33 cfw of selected version. Let it flash and everything. Put it on a charger just incase.

I haven't seen any difference between M33 and GEN-D3, except that GEN has more features. So, how could you possibly not like it?

Yeah, why downgrade from GEN-D3? I haven't seen any problems with it that would make it worth going back to an older CFW.

M33 has better compatibility with homebrew and PS1 games
GEN has patching on the fly for 6.00 firmware

Hm. Fair enough. I dont play homebrew or psx games as much so I guess that's why I wouldn't have noticed that.

But....GEN has less features overall, just the built-in decryption proves to be the main draw for new users or those who disliked patching a handful of games.

There are pro's and cons for each, but ultimately it's personal choice that decides and not an ultimately superior firmware.

Memory stick speedup doesn't work well with Gen either. Thus compressing .ISO files in .CSO files doesn't work well.

If I use Hellcat's recovery flasher and turn m33...will it overwrite my flash0 or do anything to my saves from gen-d3? Or is it just smooth sailing from there? Another question. Ssing the recovery flasher, will it install the latest 5.00 m33, or do i have to look for it?

    Edit: Typos
