it would be easy to add to neek!!!
Lets see what you can do. :D

ahhhhh you got me!!!!

ill try to add it in and if it works ill send you a copy.

it might take awhile though i would have to write code into the es_module just to handle GC pads

might not ever work but hell ill try it anyway.

Man, if you could, that would be great. I have my tech wii in my office that I use for testing and repairs, but most of the time my wiimotes are in use for the other wii's in my house. It would be best if it could be used on a real nand, but I'd be happy just being able to use it in *neek.

I voted yes.

(P.S. Nice try with the rechargables, but those die over the span of a year.)
No they don't.
I've had about 4 WiiMotes with rechargeable battery packs for at least 3 years now and they still work like a charm.
(The only person who uses them is a 8 years old kid, too)

I would also appreciate this! Its just something that adds to he complete feeling of the system.Actually as far as GameCube controller related things go the following would be appreciated

1) GameCube controller support in the system menu VIA method metion above or as a StartPatch code

2) A way to (software wise) fake Classic controller input via GameCube controller (would be perfect for holiday 2011 model Wii consoles)

3) A CHEAPER way to (hardware wise) fake Classic controller input via GameCube controller

--Mind you there is THIS controller that does allow Gamecube buttons to be use as a CC ( http://gbatemp.net/topic/309896-gamecube-controller-on-new-wii-and-wii-u-solved/page__p__3908547#entry3908547 )

--some type of cable or box that plugs in the Wii remote on one end and a GameCube controller on the other end would be perfect.

With that said, there are StartPatch and Priiloader codes that allow you to skip the system menu and have the Wii start up the game once the power button is pressed.

Considering I just got some gamecube controllers, It would definitely be a alot more convenient but if it's that big of a hassle just to implement it, I won't stress over it. What I will stress over though is the fact that official GC memory cards still can't be used when transferring save files and such.

Hm, must be the crappy Nyko one I bought.

You can push it around with a classic or guitar controller. It just needs to be patched to think one of those is connected and read the SI registers instead of the wiimote extension data.

1) No reason to do it.
2) You would have to do a lot of modifications.
3) Messing with the SM is dangerous.
4) Again, no reason to do it.
LOL, this from the guy who always recommends to install priiloader aka the most invasive and dangerous system menu modification of all.
Priiloader certainly has the potential to screw up the SM, I don't deny that. I made it clear in the thread about priiloader causing bricks. However, it's install process has proven quite safe (with the exception of v0.5, which was more a result of TT fail) and it is very beneficial in the long run.

In this case, the user wants people to attempt something of little to no value because he is too lazy to use a Wii remote. I don't know if the change is even possible (you might though), and I don't think it's worth the risk.

Bzzzzt, wrong. Did you even read my reasons? Besides, it's worth it for even more than what I mentioned.

Ever had one of your little nieces or nephews break one of your Wiimotes? I have. That is painful, especially when I only use the Wiimote minimally. In fact, the only thing I use it for is to SELECT MY FREAKIN' DISC CHANNEL. After that, it gets tossed somewhere else. Why not have the ability to cut it out of the equation, period? Not to mention batteries that you have to keep paying for. It would save money.

And, as if I even had to mention it, the very same problem would be solved for everyone.
Of course not. Do children in your family play with sledge hammers? They aren't easy to break. Also, I haven't had to pay for batteries for over 4 years because I was smart enough to get rechargeable packs.

As for other people, you are acting like this is a common issue. New Wii's aren't even going to include gamecube ports.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. It's never going to happen, just accept it instead of whining because you made bad financial decisions and let your relatives break controllers.
I lose my wiimotes around the house left right and centre. There's more uses for this than replacing broken remotes.

Also you're what is known as an asshole. I'm not even part of this and I can see you're being really harsh and rude.

The ones we got are all Nyko, I believe.

Don't know what to say, man. Mine busted fast.

Recently i bough Zelda WW GC's game and i play it a lot. To start my wii and boot the GC game w/o using wiimotes, i turn my wii holding reset button to bring up priiloader, launch applications or hbc from these steps with gc controllers.

You know what, I looked over this, and I realize I was being a jerk. I had a...bad day (don't want to go into it, I'll just get upset again). Sorry I took it out on you, I had no right to.

I didn't think people would find a use for this. I've never lost or broken a Wii remote, and my Nyko rechargeable batteries work just as well as they did 4 years ago. Based on the poll, many others feel otherwise.

I don't know how much I can help, but I'm open for any testing if you want.

If this can be done through a patch, I recommend you not mess with StartPatch. Priiloader may not be the safest program in the world, but it is certainly safer than StartPatch (or any variation of it).

Maybe adding something to the loader.ini on priiloader would make it possible

Somebody here posted this hack would have NO use...How come? I buy a console to do what I want to, be lazy if I want to as well, I hate having to navigate the wii menu through pointing by force, it's a very stupid gimmick...which is made more stupid when the only way you can accomplish this is through connecting a classic controller (which I hate as well), hopefully it'll be done someday...but if it hasn't been done yet, it's very unlikely, just like USB loading GC games....what a shame.

If the purpose of something this complicated & dangarous is only to open the disc channel wouldn't a combination of a priiloader forwarder & a hombrew/launcher that starts the disc & supports gc controller alot easier & simpler way to achieve that ?

EDIT : looks like postloader can now to that .

ok god and i just like them go to blogs realy qwick and look at my blog

Jesus Christ dude, we're looking at it because it was in the most recent threads.

No need to spam emoticons or punctuation. It just becomes a nuisance.

Boy, it's great having to read a post five times to understand it, then realize you just wasted your time because it was a stupid question.
