GBAtemp Recommends! Go! Go! Beckham! Adventure on Soccer Island
G.R. Issue #4 (GBA)

I know you enjoyed MOTHER 3. That game is pure awesomeness.
Sorry for the flood of RPG's these past few weeks. I'm sure many enjoyed them, but I know RPG's aren't on a lot of gamers favourite genre list. To make up for it, we've got a platformer that we think you'll love.

So, welcome to the fourth issue of GBAtemp Recommends! - a weekly magazine feature in which we share our favorite Game Boy Advance titles. The games we recommend may be top titles from the GBA library, or they may be sleeper hits that missed the radar, but one thing's certain, they're all great games that are worthy of a play through!

This week, we're promoting Go! Go! Beckham! Adventure On Soccer Island (now that's a mouthful)! Ignore the Beckham tie-in, this is one Beckham licensed game that doesn't blow balls (..although it does kick them).

'Go! Go!' was quite a sleeper hit, probably as the game was only released in Europe, and never found its way to American shelves. It was made by the same people as Denki Blocks. The cute and simplistic graphics (that are actually very reminiscent of Denki Blocks) are sure to please the majority, and the "tropical-themed" audio only adds to the games charm.

While playing the game, you'll need to use your skills as a football/soccer player and collect coins to complete the levels, you'll also have to use your magic football/soccer ball as a weapon to kick down pesky enemies. "Soccer Kid rip off" you may be thinking, and you may be right, but we think this game improves on that formula and then some.

There's a lot of levels on this game (47 to be exact). Don't be fooled though, the levels are relatively short and you should be able to blast through the game in a good few hours.

Sound strange? Maybe, but it's tons of fun!

If you're looking for some good ol' school platforming fun with a twist, then definitely give this sucker a whirl! We think you'll like it.

Game Summary said:
England and Manchester United soccer star David Beckham has been turned into a cartoon action figure in this brand new fun and exciting platform adventure game, Go! Go! Beckham! Utilising Beckham's fabulous soccer skills, you must take on an entire army of nasty opponents as you battle to defeat the evil forces of Mr Woe and free the inhabitants of Soccer Island from his terrible spell. Dribble, trap, kick, bend and head a soccer ball to defeat the monsters discovering special moves and revealing spectacular effects in each of the action-packed zones.

Oh There were a nes platformer I played some 10 years ago.
It has a charecter just like this game who throws balls at enemies.
It started on a theme park. I've trying to find that game for ages.
Anyone have an idea what I'm talking about

Sure it was NES? As that sounds like Soccer Kid which was on the Amiga & then GBA.

This game is great, a fun platformer.

There was also Marko's Magic Football also on Amiga which was kinda similar to both but not as good.

OMG I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!

It's surprisingly good and one of my 'hidden gems' of the GBA. Yeah, very similar to Soccer Kid on the Amiga but mixed with Super Mario World. Haha. Awesome choice

) I'm still playing this one too, another brilliant game I was in the middle of playing when I got a DS. I'll finish someday; can't play it on the bus to work cause I'm always in the middle of a level when I get there!

I'm possitive that it's not Soccer Kid.
Since the console was actually a clone and cartidge was a 999999999-in-1 I'll probably never find what that game was

One purpose of GBAtemp Recommends is to recommend games that are good that you might not have played or even heard of yet.

The game is Doki! Doki! Yuuenchi: Crazy Land Daisakusen.
I liked that one. I still play it from time to time on my PSP.

..and you might want to try it..We're not suggesting that you must like recommended games, but we're just showing off games that are liked by us or other people and might be good fun for someone who missed them!!
