It's good to have this place back.

dice: I posted the instructions on the backup board early yesterday. Hunter then made it simpler for non-XP users and non-computer literate people. Myself and Curly also made topics on Garpland telling people how to get on. Costello and I'm sure others have been posting the instructions time and time again on the IRC channel, which is where I first learned from Costello how to get on. If members don't go to any of these places, that is their fault. Also, not all ISPs allow for the Hosts bypass so even with the edited Hosts file, they still won't be able to get on here. So please, in the future, make sure you know what is actually going on before you tell people that "they need to help out more".

Telvin: Yeah, the high quality of posts is definitely noticable when the majority of the members that tend to lower the quality aren't here. The only bad part of having so many quality posts is that I don't get to utilize the new Warning System.

1. I was on irc all afternoon and I couldn't get on.
2. I don't visit Garpland so I wouldn't have had any idea.
3. What I meant is that the link should have been kept somewhere where most gbatemp members would have visited (i.e #gbatemp) - The only help I saw/was given was for those with windows XP and even that wasn't there long. I mean a day is nothing really, I don't go online everyday.
4. This is from my point of veiw, if I had the power/opportunity to do so I'd try more ways to alert people.

Can you tell me why we need to modify the hosts file? I've seen other website changer the server location and all but it's the first time I need to do that... Anyway, glad to be back and the forum looks good hehe.

You don't have to, but until every ISPs DNS cache has been updated, unless you update your hosts file you won't be able to access GBAtemp.
Give it a few more days and all will be fine!

I had to edit the host file to be back here...thanks Puck to have posted info on Garpland!
Anyway, go Italy! So Bologna is the new GbaTemp home...you won't paint all blue and red though
