GBAtemp is attending E3 2019!

As you can tell from the countdown timer that's been put on GBAtemp's homepage, E3 is almost here! There's less than a week to go before the big show kicks off, which will no doubt give us tons of new games to be excited for. E3 2019 will be an interesting event; this will be the first year in history that Sony will be skipping out on, despite growing anticipation behind the next-gen PlayStation system. That leaves the floor to Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Bethesda, Ubisoft, Square Enix, and of course, Nintendo. Devolver Digital, Limited Run Games, and the PC Gaming Show will also host new reveals through smaller press conferences throughout the week.

E3 2019 will be a defining point for a lot of the AAA companies. Bethesda has a lot to prove after the turbulent reception to Fallout 76, and the prior announcement that they would not be bringing their two most hyped games--Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield--to their conference. With Sony out of the picture, Microsoft has a lot of room to impress, as all eyes will be on them. Recent acquisitions seem to show that Microsoft is taking exclusives seriously, having added Obsidian and inXile to their fold. Meanwhile, the Xbox codename Scarlett appears to have a focus on streaming, which has been a contentious topic for many. For many of you, Nintendo will be the highlight of the show, who has been hitting it out of the park when it comes to the Switch. The Switch has been breaking records left and right in terms of sales, so Nintendo will have to bring a lot to the table to continue its momentum. The PC Gaming Show should be a good source for debate, due to Epic Games arriving on the scene, and trying to edge in on Steam's market share. You'll have to watch to find out how many games will be exclusive to Epic's launcher on PC!

Having become something of a recent tradition, GBAtemp will once more be covering the event, live from the show floor. Just like last year, we're excited to say that we have a meeting with Nintendo, (thanks to @Hells Malice) and you can look forward to seeing coverage on their latest games! Microsoft and Bethesda have also graciously invited us to their press conferences, so keep an eye out, and maybe you'll see someone wearing a Tempy sweatshirt in the crowd on Twitch!

Are you excited for this year's E3? We sure are! With upcoming games such as Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch, Cyberpunk 2077, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Halo Infinite, the Link's Awakening remake all slated for appearances, there's a packed lineup of previously announced titles, and a bevy of never-before-seen games that will be unveiled. As with every E3, rumors are already cropping up everywhere; there's the heavily hinted at new From Software game that might feature George R. R. Martin as its lead writer, the quiet tease of a potential Baldur's Gate 3, or the Rocket League roller-blade clone that Ubisoft has up its sleeve. Microsoft might reveal their new Xbox hardware, too. There's a lot to look forward to!

What game are you most excited to see? Are there any rumors that have you feeling hopeful? Let us know in the comments below! And be sure to stay tuned--our live coverage begins on June 9th!

I would love to go, but im not excited for e3 at all anymore. Its more or less a regular convention now, nothing like in the 90s.

After last year's microsoft representation, they kept me hyped. Square enix is showing avengers tho which i have been dying waiting for the last couple years.

Ubisoft, PLEASE, announce a new Splinter Cell game. You can put Denuvo on it, make it Uplay-exclusive and always online, I don't care, ANYTHING to let me play some new Splinter Cell.

I'm one of those three (currently) that voted for EA. I'm excited to see how they are gonna screw up this time.

Ask Nintendo, if they plan to use the Tegra X2 chip for the inevitable Nintendo Switch Revision.

None, AMD only, I only want to know about upcoming 3rd gen Ryzen and Navi...

Unless they show something about the Next Gen consoles then would have been Sony but since they won't show up on E3... Nintendo same only care if they show an improved Switch...

On gaming companies I only care for Bethesda but only if they show the next Elder Scrolls, else I don't care for any other current stuff from them either just like shitty EA and Ubilolosoft...

Though EA might show the C&C remastered, now that would interest me since they don't make a game that I like 4 years already...

Nintendo, Bethesda*, Ubisoft, Square Enix, that's about it for me as far as which conferences I'm gonna watch. In all honesty, I don't care much for Microsoft's.

Ubisoft, PLEASE, announce a new Splinter Cell game. You can put Denuvo on it, make it Uplay-exclusive and always online, I don't care, ANYTHING to let me play some new Splinter Cell.

Minus Denuvo (which is hot garbage), I'd rather have just UPlay tacked on, we need another Splinter Cell game or collection.

I can imagine how the interview would look like

[gbatemp guy]: "Hello, pleasure to meet you, I'm *enter name here* from GBATemp
[nintendo representative]: "GBATemp? Wait a sec, don't you guys like, pirate our games and shit?
[gbatemp guy]: *runs*

I'm dying to know more about Animal Crossing Switch, but I feel like they might not end up showing it at all. Same goes for Luigi's Mansion 3.

As for Square Enix, maybe they'll localize or remake some more Dragon Quest games. Perhaps a surprise announcement of Bravely Third finally being in the works? Which reminds me, will we finally get a full release date for the FF:CC remaster?
Totally random comment, but nice profile pic man. Hotel Dusk needs more fans...

I can't wait to see Dragon Quest Builders 2 from Square Enix for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. That is similar to Zelda + Minecraft in one. I would buy when go on sale around Black Friday, Christmas or New year 2020 at price $30.00 or less. I'm very excite for that. :)

I'm mostly looking forward to the google stadia details. As per obvious, this is pre-E3 material. :tpi:

From the list...I'd say it's a tie between epic's presentation (I wanna know what their priorities are for implementations in their currently wannabe store) and nintendo. Sure, sony is going to announce either a new console or an SSD-variant of the current, but I personally don't care much about it. Just to the degree to how nintendo might (or might not) react to it. :)

I already liked the first post, but I'll...erm...DOUBLE LIKE this image. :D

(stupid timezones...I only need it a couple of times per year, and each and every time I had to re-calculate when those damn conferences really start)
