I hope the core of the site doesn't suffer from this... I'm coming here mainly for GBA/NDS news, afterall.
Also, how do you finance all that? I can understand the programming part is a good showcase for university and work later, but who finances the servers and the bandwidth? Hosting those pictures must cost a fortune in HDD space, CPU power and bandwidth.
Not to worry. We're still all about scene news and releases at heart. This sort of stuff with blogging and what not is just to enhance the community aspects of the site, because lets face it, as a huge forum our community is our strongest asset. Anything we can add that is helpful to them expressing themselves is going to benefit the site as a whole. But don't worry, news is still the forefront, we're not removing stuff, just adding.
The three shop affiliates we have on the portal help pay for the hosting, competition prizes and such. They've been great to us. And having them means no ads littering the entire forums
