this would be a nice idea.
Another idea: we should be able to name our blog (give our blog a name)

This is a great idea, and I can think of several members who will benefit enormously from it.
We're even deeper into the community concept now, it's nice to see the site playing to it's strengths.
Seriously, there's so many strong personalities on this site, this just tickles me pink, I can't wait to see what everybody does.

I hope the core of the site doesn't suffer from this... I'm coming here mainly for GBA/NDS news, afterall.

Also, how do you finance all that? I can understand the programming part is a good showcase for university and work later, but who finances the servers and the bandwidth? Hosting those pictures must cost a fortune in HDD space, CPU power and bandwidth.

Not to worry. We're still all about scene news and releases at heart. This sort of stuff with blogging and what not is just to enhance the community aspects of the site, because lets face it, as a huge forum our community is our strongest asset. Anything we can add that is helpful to them expressing themselves is going to benefit the site as a whole. But don't worry, news is still the forefront, we're not removing stuff, just adding.

The three shop affiliates we have on the portal help pay for the hosting, competition prizes and such. They've been great to us. And having them means no ads littering the entire forums

I think these new additions were great ideas. I've always wanted to start a blog but I've never really been involved with any other site on the level I've been with this one. The photo upload section will be great as well. I've always liked the idea of Facebook but was being driven mad by the number of applications people are constantly sending to me.

Not to worry. We're still all about scene news and releases at heart. Yes. We still strive to be the best GBA, NDS and Wii release site, and hope you guys recognize our efforts. We still put a ton of work into release and homebrew posting and database maintenance and aren't going to stop any time soon. We'll be improving on this just as much as the new features... I actually have a few ideas up my sleeves.

This is one of the reasons why GBATemp is in my opinion, the most awesome forum around. The admins strongly support it, and features just keeps getting added in.

The best addition in my view, is the picture upload space. Finally, no more expired images by imageshack and such
