Hacking GBA Emulator Saving Issues

Does the in game saving feature not work? I was playing some games (like Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town due to the fact that my GBA SP isn't as bright as my DSi, even though I own the game), and when I was finished I used the in game saving feature and turned it off. When I went to play again I did not have the continue option. I know there are save states, but it's kinda disappointing that I have to start over again. I know that PSP emulators have similar issues (which is why I use save states on there), but I wasn't sure if the save feature was working so I took a chance, assuming it did. Remember to exit the emulator to the EOS DSTWO main screen otherwise it is likely to not going to save the game's SAV to the SDcard.
