Gaming GBA connection

hello everyone I was messing around with VBA-M when I tried to use the online function with a friend of mine.
But I couldn't get this to work when I tried port forwarding I couldn't find an answer for which port to use.

One of the windows should tell you? Try port 5738, or 2302.

The online play never worked the best for me, and though VBA-m people might have done something to help over the old vba-link stuff I am not expecting that much. You are far better off running them on the same machine and having your friend join via VNC/teamviewer. Even without that I would say a VPN of some form would be better than port forwarding VBA to the wide open net.
