Looking at the FAQ on the site I found this bit of info -

Are all savegames compatible with my 3DS flashcart?

No. You will notice that most savegames on this site are tested on Gateway 3DS, but some are for other flashcarts such as the 3DS-Link, MT-Card or the R4i Gold. When you are to download a savegame, pay special attention to the flashcart used to create the savegame. Sometimes saves from one flashcart work on another, but there is no guarantee that they do.
Different software versions of the same flashcart should all be forward compatible. Meaning that a save from Gateway 3DS 2.2 will work on Gateway 3DS 2.3b, but perhaps not on Gateway 3DS 2.0.



Basically you have to make sure you grab the save that was created with GW and even then it may not work due to save encryption issues.
