Hacking Gateway rom menu White Square

Hello everyone

Well, I just receved a 128GB micro sd card I ordered few days ago. I inserted 15 games in it and then, when I boot the gateway mode and the multi-rom menu, I get only 4 games icons, others are only white squares.
Does anyone else had this problem? How do I fix this?

Sounds like a fake micro sdcard. The higher capacity ones especially have a high chance of being fake. Test your micro sdcard with h2testw.

Your sd card is either fake or damaged most likely I'm afraid to say (more likely fake)
because it shows space that isn't really there so your first few games will show and work but then after a certain amount it wont work anymore

Sadly these things happened even to me but luckily got a refund
You should try to get a refund

Get your money back, or you could try re-flash it back to it's original (probably 8gb) size, of which is probably still damaged anyway so you could likely only use 2-5gb of it.

Or how about if you buy the card from anywhere but a big name retail store, it's almost always guaranteed to be fake

There are legitimate places to buy real SD cards. I got mine from Amazon. I did make sure to check the review/feedback rating. Retail store bought SD cards are overpriced in my opinion.

unfortunately price and feedback arent always a clear indication.....firstly there is no reason someone selling fakes couldn't just price them up as $100, or even $200....doesnt make them any more legit, they are usually cheaper as they want to shift them though, in regards to feedback, especially on ebay, the system is flawed (probably purposefully so) basically if you get a refund, you cant leave feedback.....so you get a card and it fake you get a refund = you cant warn people that the seller sells fake card....yeah you can report to ebay, but they just go "but look 10,000 happy victims customers, this must be a one off....not to mention we have made thousands of pounds from this reseller....so pfffft as if we will stop him, as long as the majority of people are blissfully unaware. fact is thats the case, probably 90% of people who buy fake cards are completely unaware they have, they get the card, take some picture, put it in the computer, see 128GB, and go leave nice happy feedback.....its not until like 1/2 months later once they hit that limit that they realize something is wrong....too bad no obligations for seller and you already left nice feedback....

so yeah real shop and always test your SD card with h2testw, i have heard stories of fake cards ending up in the supply chain before.....always check to be safe, and research before you buy for reputable sellers

Mine was sold from Amazon directly. Not from one of the partnered sellers. So I know mine is legit. Amazon many times will list other sellers for a new item, (same goes for the "used" catagory). I used a Amazon Prime trial to get free shipping on mine, so I know mine came from Amazon. It's a Samsung Evo class 10 16GB MicroSD. Didn't really get anything super large as the majority of my games will be in the form of CIAs installed to the SD card in the 3DS.

When looking for cards on Amazon, choose the ones that ship from Amazon and not from another seller.

Definitely stay away from the used category entirely.

yeah just generally for less internet/technology savvy people its best to just stick to real stores....as seen by the countless people posting on here that their games are white squares......there was even 1 guy arguing his is legit and he checked it on pc and its shows as 128GB.......many people don't really understand that what the computer tells them and what it is can be completely different things

yeah 1 or 2 games being bad maybe, but 11 bad downloads....i wouldn't think so, telltale sign of a fake card only the first few show up and white squares there after, with a bad rom it would more likely be like game white square, game white square....mixed up like that

I was including amazon, newegg, etc. (Third party sellers excluded) when I was talking about big name retailers.
