I installed the Devmenu from Govanify (which is decrypted) using bbb's devmenu.cci

They are not. They are signed with developer keys. They need to be decrypted first.

they are except that Go's is decrypted and the devmenu from bbb is still signed with the dev keys (or so i've read ^^)

well i wouldnt exactly say better because (to my understanding ^^) they work the same just that go's can actually be installed to the emunand directly ^^.

so what happens if we get a decrypted dev men from the SDK? then we can install roms to the SD for games that require FW higher than 4.5? or we can already do that? , how do we install games in .3ds to the SD? they have to be converted to .CIA ,is this already possible?

Is there any known method to decrypt this? Or is it being different from rom encryption, because you specifically mentioned "developers keys".

Govanify's dev menu was decrypted and repacked to install on normal systems. It's not any better.

Decrypting them would require developer keys, which come with developer 3DS units.

Only because it's convenient. It'd be completely possible to install the CFW without Gateway software if you make the dump by hardmod, or if someone wrote a NAND dump homebrew.


Research isn't for nothing, an open solution not tied to DRM hardware would still be great.

It is possible but much more difficult for the average user. Thanks to the team gateway is that many of us have been tinkering with CFW

Govanify devmenu is a CIA that we can directly install to main menu, which is more practical than having to use gateway multirom menu to select DevMenu IMO.
As I said in CFW thread, I managed to do a CIA from a 3DS file and it installed fine on GW 2.6 emunand. So basically you can install games you want fast acces on the emunand dirrectly and others (or ones that need internet access) on the gateway card itself.
I wanted to try what would happen if trying to run them on classic mode without the gateway card, but emunand doesn't even load, the 3DS froze on a black screen. On classic mode with gateway card, running them does not work (It says something like This program cannot be started. Download it again from nintendo eshop.).
