I was thinking about buying a flashcart for my 2ds which is on 8.2fw and was wondering which card to get. I know that the DSTwo+ is a Gateway emulator but I don't really know all of the features the Gateway card and what the advantage would be choosing it over the DSTwo+. thanks in advance.

Gateway 3DS or setup rxTools you will brick using a DSTWO+ also everything it does you can do without even buying the card.

I do not recommend purchasing a DSTwo+
GW has been known to include malicious code in some of their FW updates that attempts to brick a console that is using a DSTwo+ flashcard.

I recommend you to buy Gateway 3DS flashcart over DSTwo+ for to play 3DS games on it.

DSTwo+ is best to play DS, SNES and GBA games to work on any Nintendo 3DS/XL, 2DS, New 3DS/XL up to latest firmwares.

Don't put 3DS games on DSTwo+ flashcart to avoid problems like brick or damage to your Nintendo system.

I have a DSTWO plus, I wouldn't really recommend it. I used the Gateway plug in with no issues and never bricked my system, but CFW is just a more elegant solution. Also the DSTWO plus doesn't quite fit in the slot correctly so it's temperamental sometimes and the 3DS does not want to recognize it's there.

My personal suggestion would be do CFW and of you want DS capabilities get a cheap R4

Thank you all for your posts and helpful information, I guess I'll go with the Gateway then since its not that much more and I'm more interested in playing 3ds games more rather than snes/gba/ds games. I would like to go the CFW route but I was told that I needed an original OOT or Cubic Ninja card which I don't have is there another way to do it?

Browserhax currently works on 10.3; will also work on 9.2 after downgrade. You can then install homemenuhax, or if you have old Ironfall you can preinstall the 9.2 version of Ironhax.

EDIT: I'd say if you're going to get a flashcart at all, you might as well just get the original DSTWO and just use it to do what CFW alone can't really do (that is to say, DS-mode shenanigans)

He is on 8.2, no need to downgrade anything...

rxTools is free an you don't need to buy anything to install it:
