Hacking gateway issue

my buddy formatted his sysNAND with the SD card removed. kept all of his saves and games on the SD card. To unlink his sysNAND and emuNAND.


Now whenever he goes to boot into gateway it shows the gateway boot screen but then just goes back to sysNAND. He's unable to get back into emuNAND. If he holds L to get into gateway menu that works. But when he selects gateway mode is just goes back again to sysNAND.

That sounds like there is no emunand installed. Are you certain, the emuand is on the sd-card?

If emunand is not installed, press format emunand in the gateway menu. Back up the big sd card because it formats it.

This is a stupid, and possibly insulting question, but did she put her sd card back in after formatting?

Ya SD card back in and they did try formatting emunand again with no luck. He is trying to just start over from scratch now reformatting everything no luck.
