Should work. Fast & Furious for 3DS has 4.5 update and is $15 on eBay.

Do you have the Gateway?

Yes but we don't need it for the downgrade, only the launcher.dat and the correct dg file.

Is it possible to use EmuNAND without having a Gateway card? Also, is there a simpler way to install the 4.5 CFW?

No reason that shouldn't work.

That's what needs testing - is the downgrade solid and genuine - or is it achieved by some software tricks to fool the system into thinking it's an early firmware? One good test of that would be to do an upgrade to an intermediate sysnand firmware (below 9.2) using a genuine cartridge, and not in emunand.

I thought I originally had an account here years ago, but signed up anyway to put in my results:

Have a launch 3DS and attempted the downgrade and was successful. The 3DS has had an issue since the 6.x firmware with not wanting to update via Wi-Fi, (it would error on update) so I could only ever update it with game carts.

It has no hardware mods. I only did it since I had an XL and had a peace of mind to try it out.

Animal Crossing, Donkey Country Returns and Lego City Undercover as well but I was thinking about price.

Might be worth grabbing a title more in demand for easy resell but if you plan on keeping it just for the sake of downgrading to 4.2 then upgrading to 4.5 then cheaper option maybe better.
