Im confused the exploit works on 9.2 now right so why go to 4.5?

Its also A preference thing for some, regardless you arent going to have a fully functioning sysNAND as it wont be on latest version, 4.x support is what it began on, also the majority of users are running a 9.4 EmuNAND which they are booted into 99% of time so sysNAND version becomes irrelevant

What is the advantage of Downgrading the system anyway?
I already have 7.1 with 9.4 emuNAND, what advantage do I get (or pros) to downgrade my 7.1 system to 4.5 or so and update it to 9.4 emuNAND?

Downgraded original 3ds 6.2 and 7 to 4.2. Both have nand mods. Nothing went wrong. Working on 3ds xl next but no nand mod on it yet. wow

Omg, I almost had a heart attack. The downgrade on my 9.2 NA 3DS went fine, then I held the power off button because I don't actually have a Gateway card to boot into. When I turned the system back on, it hanged on a black screen for a minute or two, then the notification LED blinked blue and all of a sudden I was on the 4.2 home screen! Thank God, I thought I killed it.

I'm still looking for anyone with a recent XL buy and I'd like to know if emuNAND gets messed with at all during downgrade

What happens with games that uses >6.0.0 save encryption? If you downgrade to 4.5 classic mode gateway will stop playing retail games with the new save method, right?

It's not a problem anymore :)

Save crypto 6.x games can be played on 9.2 and 4.5.
Currently playing Pokemon ORAS on my 9.2 2DS (The game has been started on 4.5 3DS)
