Hacking Gateway Downgrade Help

I just found this thread regarding GW downgrade (NOT the 2.1 Downgrader which is just crap)

It seems you cant downgrade a 2ds to 4.5.

However why dont you upgrade to 9.0/9.2 and install MenuHax to get rid of using the Browser everytime?
(sorry I have actually no idea if this will work since it has been ages since I installed GW on my o3ds and n3ds. I also dont now if sth could happen to your Savegames)


P.S.: @ Gateway haters: I'll just copy this from the link above (about GW downgrading from 9.0 to 4.5): "Report based on thread up to Page43:

Saying Gateway is a good product in any way is just plain ignorant. Not to mention those statistics are completely wrong.

Dude if you follow the guide WE gave you, up to a certain point gets you menuhax, but if you go to the end you get THE BEST hack. We told you this already!

I got a 2DS so that counts as a O3DS right? And I currently do not have an adapter

JUST NO, 2ds is not the same as a regular 3ds. If you downgrade it, you're guarantee to brick it. DOn't be a dumbass.

The only time you can downgrade it is when you follow plailect's guide to get the OTP for arm9loaderhax. After that you need to update it back to a higher compatible firmware

Wrong! The 2DS uses the same packs as the O3DS! It is said like 4 times in the guide(Trust me, I translated it to Romanian altough haven't really contacted Plailect yet)

We're all trying to recommend you the best possible setup with your 2ds. The best possible hack setup is installing lumas with arm9loaderhax and combining it with the gateway red card.

But you cannot run a 2ds (play games and cfw) on a firmware lowering than 6.0. You can only downgrade the MSET or downgrade to 2.1 to get the OTP key.

Yes, we all know that. We downgrade to get arm9loaderhax. The OP wanted to downgrade his 2ds to 4.0 so that his gateway card will work, but this will cause a brick in the 2ds.

For the op, if you can't downgrade to 4.5 you could upgrade to 9. 2 and use menuhax or downgrade the mset for it to behave like the 4.5, don't listen to them that tell you get rid of your gateway, I would recommend using the Plailect guide to have arm9 because sometimes it will fail to load the gateway with menuhax or the ds profile way, I use arm9 with my gateway and I'm very happy with that setup, 4.5 is not that good because of the save encryption that was updated in 7, so any originals with that encryption will work on your console but the save will be corrupted when used on another console
