I'm surprised this thread is only on page 10 ... gbatemp's getting downright moderate in its responses to these kind of announcements these days. Or maybe jaded is the more correct term.

I think it is very unlikely the retail version of this thing will work exactly as pong described, but as the first product to hit the market, no matter how it functions it'll be far from being exactly what we all want. I'm probably going to wait for supercard team and all the other usual suspects to reverse engineer the thing and start making their own ripoffs interpretations of it first. In fact, I'll probably wait for at least their second gen versions.

I'd like to just bypass this whole phase of things altogether this time around:

True, I've never seen the first "hack" as better hack for more than few months, it was true from SNES until Wii, so it may be true now.

This doesn't look like it will enable cheats of any kind so we might still have a generation of legit pokemon.

Why couldn't one just replace the rom file on the sd and resize the capacity instead of buying tons of sd cards? Either way it's not exactly convenient...

I don't really care if it's practical or not. If I can avoid spending $70 per game (which is the price around here) it's a deal for me. Even if it costs double the price of a retail card and forces me to never update my 3ds again.

The only thing I'm now curious is about save games... It might just be that they still haven't finalized the Game Manager, so it corrupts saves because it doesn't correctly saves them to the microSD yet.

you will need to lock down the MicroSD to the correct format and size, like when you make a disc and then lock off the rest of the size as the cart data size is checked and confirmed

you cant have a Game Manager due to it running on a Retail 3DS and needing to be Signed by the Nintendo Key, the only way a manager would exist would be one signed by a Dev Key which only works on Dev Units, no other Data can be loaded on a 3DS

Yeah, even in 720p and full screen, I can't make out the writing on the SD cards. Speaking of Luigi's Mansion 2, does the US even have the all white 3DS XL? If not, that's a pretty clear giveaway that the 3DS XL in the video is european.

yet garyopa claims it works so now its word against word and even you cant know if unsigned code is running.
And as you know the key isnt persay needed if the found a exploit that let them execute unsigned code, trough i am skeptical of this.
But we will see if he is right in about 2-3 week since he claimed to that it will be released in 2weeks.

Well to figure out if we'll be limited to using multiple micro - SD cards, we need to figure out the size of a 3DS Rom, what the hell do we have those yet ?
