seriously though

turn off your console, remove sd card make backup with win32disk imager just in case. rest is easy just follow instructions.

and since it's your first time remember to backup nand and keep a copy of it in safe place.



edit: oh right you were talking about downgrading your console on beta.. well that might actually be a reason to worry.

Also, firmware downgrading? They sure heaped on a bunch of features nobody was asking for in this update, but they're features which I'm sure we'll all be glad to have at one point or another.

So disappointing, was waiting for weeks now to play my store bought USA games on my Australia n3DS and it doesn't support it yet...My 2DS is on 9.4, accidentally updated, so I can't even play around with Gateway on that...Hopefully soon for n3DS...

I find it funny that GW's video was running on a n3ds and n3ds support is coming out later than the 3ds/xl/2ds support.....

lol, didn't think of that. at least we know it is almost complete now since we saw it running on the n3ds. Maybe the browser exploit was why they didn't show the whole loading process. I don't see emunand either so I wonder if it's changed drastically since that video. On a side note, the 4.5 downgrade will be very nice.

yaay!! It worked on my first try!!! Now I have SysNAND 9.2 with emuNAND 9.4!!! Tried it with Monster Hunter 4 on my EU 3DSXL and it works! ^__^

Both currently public .cia managers are leaked official developer software and illegal to distribute, so nope.

1 - Its a beta release, while everyone here with a <9.2 3DS is happy that they can play their games. Beta still means its not necessarily the stable/recommended build.
Shit could go wrong and its your own fault for jumping headlong onto the beta train.

2 - By all accounts N3DS support is expected soon. Clearly they have a few things they want to clear up internally before they give the greenlight.
Not wanting to cause another brickfest with people doing things that break their devices.
I'm sure they could've pushed it out with a "caution, use at own risk" label - and much like everyone is ignoring the "Beta" label at the prospect of free games, the N3DS users would ignore the warning tape aswell and rush in headlong.


Long story short? They're being thorough. They're covering their own assets.

Can you decrypt all saves with SaveDataFiler yet?
I was thinking, if I downgrade, it will probably not work with my retail carts.
But if I decrypted my saves now, I could downgrade and add them back in and still be able to keep all my saves.

Does anyone know?

OK, here are some facts (or fiction depending on your state of mind right now)

I have verified:
Web Exploit on 9.2U 3DSXL works fine. IF you have the new Launcher.dat from 3.0 on your 3DS SD NOT the Gateway SD.

Emunand works fine. Now running emunand 9.4 on 9.2

Impressive update. Web thing sux, but I have everything I need on my XL till the downgrade packs appear. I can wait for those since emunand works.

I don't imagine why it wouldn't be. Pop the new launcher.dat in and let us know. Can always just use the old 2.7 launcher.dat if it doesn't launch.

I'm quite sure you always keep your launcher.dat on your 3ds sd not your gateway microsd

afair updating emunand can cause you lose your cia dlcs though i usually reinstall them, dunno about cia games though i think they've still been there after i've updated emunand, but i've lost some dlc, themes etc. reinstalling them fixed the issue.

I cant get it to work. Its the first time using the gateway, so heres what I did:
1. copy the files in the blue folder on the microSD for the blue card
2. copy launcher.dat on the SD card for the 3DS
3. try running the blue card -> black screen error (an error has occurred)
4. try running the browser exploit -> another error, though it just returns to the main menu
5. try running blue card again (same as 3.)

what did I do wrong?

P.S. I can confirm the blue card working and running on my old DS Lite

Yeah I updated from Gateway 2.7 to 3.0 and all my cia files work fine
