    Warning: Spoilers inside!

Garry’s Mod for Mac was released late yesterday night. For the most part it seems to work quite smoothly. We had a problem with our servers being DDOS’ed shortly afterwards, which is why the forums are down.

The number one issue reported is that the game crashes when you change resolution. I’m going to have a good look into this, but people are saying it happens in all Source Engine games on the Mac – or may be graphics card driver related. It does happen to me on my test Mac – so I will be able to look into it further.

The celebrate the release we have a 50% sale – which applies to Windows and Mac users (because we’re all the same inside). So now might be a good time to gift a copy to your best friend [IMG][/p]

Source engine physics sandbox. Did want. Now have. Been waiting for this to be on sale ever since I saw a friend build and blow crap up. If you have any interest in this, I'd suggest grabbing it quickly, before the price bounces back up.

Thanks to Maikel Steneker for pointing out the great deal!

Yes, if you already own Garry's Mod on Steam, you can download it on your Mac for free.

Essentially it takes whatever Source engine games you have, and gives you extreme freedom with the assets. You can build things, blow things up, set up ridiculous scenarios, kill someone with a harpoon, and you can do it all with other people. There is no goal to the game, no way to win. They call it a sand-box game because you essentially build your own fun. And it is quite fun, but might not be for the extremely competitive gamers out there.

Yea there is this fun mod called TTT but you need counter strike source if you want the graphics and characters.

Its not a sandbox game like GTA or EVE are in that there's a huge world with a bunch of different quests you can do. Gmod has no goals or anything its just a giant toybox for making whatever you want. I've made spaceships, hovercars and other fun little things.

More of a toy box than a sandbox, but yeah, it's a fun set of tools to tinker with. It will appeal to anyone who enjoys scenario building, Rube Goldberg devices, and the like.

I bought this game and fuck, I like it. I discovered the welding tool, I'm going to try a platforming floating in the air by balloons.

Just a question. I own Counter-Strike Source but it's currently not installed. Does that mean I won't be able to use those CSS assets in Garry's Mod without installing it then? [IMG]

You probably won't be able to use them without installing it.

Yeah I know and there are not bunch of different quests (missions) in Eve. Even pve requires to team up with few people at least. I've been playing Eve since 2006.
And on topic. I recommend Stargate add on for Garry's mod.

I bought it ages ago; glad I didn't wait until now; I do have money after all. [IMG]

I too, recommend the Stargate mod. I have some screenshots of it in action which I posted here.
