I am currently working on building a gaming pc with a budget of £600. I have spent £500 on the case, motherboard, RAM, processor, hard drive, optical drive, graphics card and power supply. I plan to spend £50 on the monitor. Can anyone tell me the best monitor you could get for £50.

Exactly what parts did you buy anyway, I'm not too fond of the currency but my GPU alone cost over $500 AUD, and not too much less in American dollars.

And what size monitor are you after?
Does it need HDMI? DVI? What?

In short, £50 is not much of a budget for a monitor. For good monitors, you want to spend at least £100.

£240 is what I spent on my 24" Dell monitor a couple weeks ago and it's simply awesome. Good 22" monitors are in the £120-160 range.

The only real way to get a monitor for that little money is to look for a used one online because you can't really get anything for that money.

You can, but it's hard. I know people in central London that can cut me great deals, but that's London.

In America, that 50 Euro ($65 USD) can only get me/you a 12 inch monitor. Why on earth would you build a PC for $700, to play it on such a cheap/small screen.

You need to be spending almost 90 euro or more.

On TigerDirect.com you might be able to find some 18" or 19" LCD's, but they will most likely be 1024x768 or 1366x768.
