Hi there,

yesterday I added ~160 disccustoms created using marker67s labels and if not available those of CountZero or tat76.
I realized that there's only one disccustom allowed on WiiTDB.com. But there are two widely used templates:

and Marker67s:

Those games which already had the first template filled in EN, I uploaded the Marker-labels at german language DE.
Maybe you could think about allowing at least two different slots for those templates and for instance a third for totally custom ones.

I may only speak for myself, but I love to have all labels looking similar.

The site is back, what's new:
* In addition to the automatic 3D cover creation when you upload a regular cover you can now upload disc artwork without adding the transparency, it is added for you.

I saw that, excellent job! I'll have to think about your suggestion because I'm afraid people will confuse the disc categories even more.
I agree that all discs should look similar, it will look much better this way, even for custom discs. In fact I was thinking about this today...
A big original disc update is coming, new custom categories will probably be added at that time

If you download as a registered user there are no watermarks at all. The covers are mostly brilliant dependent on the creator.

That's too bad I wanted to add big watermarks on all covers!

Don't worry, watermarks are not welcome on the site

I think this was just an unfortunate custom cover example because that is the first "Marker style" cover that pops up at google if you search for "wii disc".

You're absolutely correct. Cost me a hell of time to make those white borders of the squared disc labels transparent. The example was a simple google-search as stated above.
I'm freaky about quality-art

@Tom92: Removing the white borders with the circle selection tool is a matter of less than a minute (Photoshop), try it

@mouseex: I'm using PS Elements and yes it's done in less than a minute... per label...

multiply per 160 and

Expect next update on weekend, have to play in the meantime

@zorglub07: yeehaw, if I knew this before... I wouldn't have learned so much about PS Elements.
Always live on the bright side.

You're right, but scripting needs a version of CS, not Elements. In Elements you can only execute scripts but not create them. Maybe I'll try with an evaluation copy of CS4.

The good news is that there is no need to add transparency anymore, it is done by the site

How does it work?
Does it work with circles which are made transparent or does it make the white spaces transparent?
Does it also work with different sizes disc covers? I often find that covers found on the net sometimes have a thicker white border than others. Let's say the border is thicker, will it leave the white border which would result? It will leave my already transparent .png files untouched (besides resizing), right? Sorry about all these questions but I tend to be skeptical about automatic processes

If 92 is your birth year you could by the CS4 Students version, it's just 184,95€ (the normal price is 938,95€) on amazon and worth every cent.

The pictures needs to be a square picture with the disc properly centered (which should be expected even if there was no automatic transparency), it doesn't care if there is transparency already, it only takes the "disc" part of the image and the rest is made transparent. If a disc picture is not properly cropped, leaving a white border, a border will appear around the disc but it means the picture was not ok in the first place. It could detect the border of the disc automatically, but that's an extra level of automation and it may not work all the time. If your .png have transparency, it will still change them, but as long as the disc is properly centered it should look the same, except for the center ring. The center ring will look the same for all discs, I think it will look very clean this way. I keep all originals so if anything ever goes wrong I have the original. Don't worry, automation is powerful and dangerous, but in the right hands it can do wonders! I'm left-handed though
