Does anyone experience slowdown when running games? Slowdown occurs on certain games with me when lots is happening onscreen. An example of this is entering a Round Start in Space Invaders. It's not unplayable, but it does make me want to use my R4i a lot more, even though the interface is not as nice, the games play so much better.

Thoughts/comments?

what microsd do you have?
Also to fix it, copy everything to the computer and format it with Panasonic SD Formatter

Thanks. It's a Kingston, I tried this but it didn't work. What options do you guys use?

Could it just be the M3i that's playing up and being slow. Anyone else test this game on M3i Zero? It crashes lots too

What class microsd is it? And where does it say that the Kingston was made?

Made in Tiawan - Class 4

Purchased with the M3i Zero from ShopTemp!

Thanks themuddaload. Would you be able to try Space Invaders? (It's an awesome game by the way if you haven't got it)

Hmm, if i remember correctly, ive seen an article that explained defective (not quite sure) batch of Kingston microsd's made in Taiwan.
Personally i have a Class 4 Kingston MicroSDHC made in Japan, but hardly experinced any slow down.

Ill go fetch the link to the topic that contained the article.

EDIT: Heres the link to the performance speed difference of the Kingston card made from Taiwan and from Japan.

Im still trying to find that article.

EDIT # 2: Okay finally found it! Its quite a long read, so you might need to free up some time.

As for you're problem, you should get a new card that isnt made from Taiwan and you should see better results (Y).
Good luck

Hi,

Thanks so much Bentley.

Unfortunately I have tried two (a 2GB and 8GB) cards (both from Taiwan however), and they have the same slowdown. They are all fine when I load these up with an R4. I think it's a defect M3i Zero from ShopTemp :/

I bought two M3i zeros and they both worked pretty slowly.
And that was using the microSD I use in my Acekard 2i.

I personally think the M3i Zero is just a bad flashcart, that's all.

I've experienced a SLIGHT slowdown in zelda spirit tracks when groups of pirate ships appear. But that's the only game I've seen it on.

I have an 8gig class6 sandisk microSD.

Have you tried a kingston card from Japan? Hm, if i had a R4 i would test that myself, i could try asking a friend to borrow it and i just so happen to have a 1gb
Kingston microsd card manufactured in taiwan. Although the speeds on the M3 it self should be the same since the Class 4 , 4gb kingston card from japan doesn't effect the the speed that much, ill probably try comparing my 1gb taiwan kingston with my other 2gb sandisk microsd. Ill post my results later.

I agree. With my M3i Zero I get lags in Kingdom Hearts(cut-scenes), Castlevania, and other games. But all of those games work perfectly on my Acekard.
