Not a bad show.
It's a 7/10 IMO, but somehow im obsessed with it-
I really like the concept and most of the characters

Is it "game-O-verse" or "game-over-se"?

Anyway.
I appreciate some quality cheesecake but they're laying it on thicc
They knew exactly what they were doing.

Going to spoiler the rest of my post.

Watching the pilot, I noticed how pretty much all the male characters vary in shape/size, but when it comes to the women? Same general design, and thicc at that. Initially I was going to wave off the whole swimsuit business because of the game world they were in, but when I got to thinking about it, it really didn't make sense. Bikinis are the type of wear for the beach and shallow waters. where you're out in the sun and warm. This is an ocean where there would be long exposure to cold water. So what would be the recommended wear? A wetsuit. One might say "you're thinking too hard about this." This show was supposedly 14 years in the making, and they didn't think about this? Honestly, I think they did, and chose the swimsuit for "reasons". Same goes for many other choices.

Another thing that was just off was towards the end, where Miss Information got strung up. One moment she is, then the next moment, she wasn't. What was the point of that?

Then there's the whole plot. Save game worlds by defeating their hero. Basically, act as the bad guys. That's good for an episode or two, but how long can they drag that out? The pilot tried to make the good guys (acting as bad guys) seem informative.... until they got to a game world, to which they seemed oblivious (except for one that found himself with the villain). The others meet up with the hero, thinking he's just an NPC and didn't bother to ask, and they just go on their merry way. Whereas the bad guys (helping the hero) just so happened to see the title screen (which how did the good guys not notice?) to learn the name of the hero.

Honestly, much of it just seems so forced.

Yeah, this bugged me too. I don't like when all the characters in a work are clueless morons, and it sure seemed to be the case. I guess it's a holdover from their original Gameoverse series but I hope they tone it down this time. Or limit it to comic relief characters.

Okay this got me thinking. We know that Glitch productions is funded almost exclusively by merch. They shop for animated projects, push out a pilot, then hawk merch, ostensibly to fund a full series of the show. But making a full series is diminishing returns because once people buy the plushies and the figurines and the T-shirts the revenue stops but the costs of making the show continue. If they get very lucky the show will really take off and they can make new waves of merch but if not it might end up being a net loss. So in terms of return on investment releasing just the pilot is the safest bet. Now I'm not saying they are going around looking for the most marketable little guys to turn into plushies and figurines, but I'm also not saying they aren't.

That being said, LOOK HOW ADORABLE THEY ARE
