Hacking Gamecube controller adapter not working with Nintendont

I have Nintendont installed through my vWii on my WiiU but the system isn't registering the controller or adapter at all. It's a third party adapter but an official controller. I tried plugging it in different ways to no avail. Any suggestions?

if its a Mayflash adapter there's a switch on the back to switch from WIIU to PC make sure its set to WIIU

It's not a Mayflash but I recently ordered one since they are the most consistent third party adapters apparently.
