I want to buy a gamecube controller adapter for my wii u but i need information like is it true and works.
I havent seen any threads about this so i think it might be fake.
I also want to know some information like can it be used on the wiiu menu or more importantly can it be used if the wii controler has no batteries.
I realy want to play smashbros with my controlers that im used to

heres a link of an adaptor: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&tag=technobuffalo-20&creativeASIN=B00BS520SG

please at least tell me if it works

Yes this thing works. how good? that I don't know.

Can you use a classic controller plugged into a wiimote on the wiiu menu? this adapter will basically make the wii(u) think that the GC controller is a classic controller. Simple as that.
No, it won't work if the wii controller has no batteries, since it wouldn't be able to communicate with the console.

Yup, a friend of mine just did a test video the other day, it does it's job well and it's completely lag-free (*cough* GC to PC adapter).

I have a couple of USB GC/Xbox/PS2 adapters... I wonder if those would work.

Picked them up to use PS2 controllers on my PC for emulation, they work really well for that :)
