I get

"failed to read dvd 216. Error 0x31100 Ready."

Which doesn't make sense because it reads the title of the game about the button options.

I get some sort of disc read error a lot. So i keep trying until it picks it up. But it hasn't played the game.

Also, does it help if i say that anytime i try to "reboot with hooks" with almost any backup loader i get some dump error with a lot of text and it just freezes the wii.

And i just learned another thing. Whenever i click the sd card button on the lower left of the main screen, it full on freezes my wii. Does this point to anything?

Since you are having this much problems, what I would do is,
Re-virginize the Wii.
Re hack the Wii, using xzxero's "modify any wii" aka simplistic mod,
Install all my Wii loaders.
Install all the GC loaders
ALSO burn all the GC games onto DVD-Rs ONLY.

I hacked my Wii only once, and never had a prob.
I did the TP hack, and I can play GC backups using GC backup launcher
either as a channel or off sd.

I shouldn't have to re-virginize it should i? Everything else works. I really think it is the DVD brand. I wish there was a list as to what the best and worst brands are for burning gamecube games.

O.K., then instead of Re-virginizing it,
Re hack the Wii, using xzxero's "modify any wii" aka simplistic mod,
Install all my Wii loaders.
Install all the GC loaders
ALSO burn all the GC games onto DVD-Rs ONLY.
Honestly, THIS ONE CHANGE MAY BE THE ANSWER.................
I know, from my experience, when burning onto DVD+R's, I always had a problem, be it Wii OR GC backups........
As soon as I tried DVD-R's, NO PROBLEMS..........

As far as DVD brands, I've tried em ALL, and it really does'nt matter, they all work, burn at a slow setting with Imageburn....

Thanks so much for the help everybody. It is now mostly working. But the screen turns black and white, how do I fix that. This should be the last fix I need.

How do you force a region on the wii, I was using a PAL disk on my NTSC wii. I looked this up and tried to force it by pressing the NTSC button, and by first inserting a NTSC disk, then swapping it. Neither of these methods work. Is there something else I can try?

The game you're using might be a different region. Do you have a NTSC wii trying to play a PAL game? Just have it force the region
the region being the one of the Wii (aka NTSC)

edit: the force NTSC thing doesn't work?

As far as I have googled, no it has not. I'm ripping a ntsc version right now, that should solve the problem. If there is a way to get PAL working that I haven't tried yet, let me know please.

I've had similar issues with the black and white although I'm not sure why. Using GC Backup launcher on my hdtv with component works just fine with no problems, but on another tv using the standard composite cables the loader menu screen will change to black and white, as well as any game I launch on this TV will be black and white. Any ideas?

I've got a similar problem to that described early in the thread. I've softmodded the wii through the easy guide on the forum and everthing except gamecube backups (or originals for that matter) works fine.

I've installed the latest wanin's cMIOS and tried running the games through various backuploaders.
I usually get an error code (which I read on the forum means there's a wii disc in the drive instead of a gc one) but that is rubbish since my backups work perfectly on a modded gamecube and an original pal gc game gives the same error.

Sometimes however when using neogamma, it goes past this error, a green screen flashes and i get a black screen. Sometimes this screen stays and i have to reset the wii but on occasion it gives a message that it couldn't read the game. It does recognize what game it is since when i put another game in it says for example 'zelda windwaker not found' (the original game i tried it with).

Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

So wait you're saying you can't play your regular gamecube games? Or backups?

Can't run either of them through neogamma or another loader at all. The regular games work through the disc channel only.
