Hello.

I would like to know if i could install GC OS on my official memory card so i could skip
the boring process of booting sd media launcher disk and then loading the .dol.....just how one would
install FREEMC boot on the PS2 console.

Any ideas how to achieve this?

Thank you

I don't think there's a 100% softmod for gamecube that works without discs. I think the best is a modchip that automatically boots in the homebrew app you want. But i'm not sure, don't have a modded GC.

For Wii there are tons of apps for this if you didn't know already. But gamecube backup support is far from 100% on Wii and always without audio streams.

Thanks. I think you're correct.
The best info i found was this
QUOTEInstall GCOS 1.5 and autoboot (no menu) with Action Replay

You'll need:
A Gamecube.
An official Nintendo Memory Card, 251 or 59.
A way to run dol files on your Gamecube, like PSO1&2+BBA, or Max Drive Pro
Action Replay for Gamecube

1) ** This step will erase everything on your memory card **
Insert your Official Nintendo Memory card into Slot B.
Run "1 format.dol", press A to format it.

2) Reset your Gamecube and go into the GC bios save manager,
it should say you need to format, so format it.

3) Run "2 install-ARcodes.dol", press X to write the file,
and press R to select slot B.

4) Run "3 install-level2.dol", press X to write the file,
and press R to select slot B.

5) Run "4 install-gcos15.dol", press X to write the file,
and press R to select slot B.

6) Put in Action Replay, reset, go to Start Game, open the lid,
close the lid, and GCOS 1.5 should boot up. Enjoy!

Additional notes:

I used Max Drive Pro to run the dol files.
You need an official MC, 3rd party wont work or are temperamental.
I had to reboot in-between each step.
You might need to adjust the laser on some Cubes to read backups.
This doesn't work on the Wii, at least not for me.

Objective:

This allows you to boot Gamecube backups using an action replay and official memory card.

So i have to buy an AR device in order to get it to work
