Hello ....
I am new to gc modding but I was curious as if this would work like a normal sd card inside of a memory card, but with a powered usb hdd on the usb end so I can play backups from a hdd through the memory card port.
Has anybody tried this already? will it work?

Those are not what you want. Top one is just a SD reader. Read the comments of the second one. The last one is made to connect up directly to the NAND pins of a 3DS using a hardmod. It's not actually USB.
There is a SD to USB adapter that actually works. With a few very major drawbacks. The size is limited (IIRC it will only use the first 128 GB or so of the drive), the speed is extremely slow (a few KB/s), and it doesn't work with HDDs, just flash drives/memory card readers. It's also very expensive.
In other words, it's not usable for this purpose, it's barely usable at all.

Hello.:)

I think the main reason why this Gamecube HDD project is not interesting for further developing is the Wii for perfect 1:1 emulating/playing Gamecube Games from HDD/SD Card including use of Gamecube Memory Cards,Controllers and Cheats..

Yeah, you can already do that on a Wii thanks to Nintendont or even DIOS MIOS. And Wiis are dirt cheap.

Your best bet would be a WiiKey Fusion, or Wasp Fusion which both serve as drive replacements for a GameCube. But good luck tracking one down.

As many have and will say, get a Wii, or even a Wii U.
