Genre: Sport
Exceptions:
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter games
Mario Hoops 3 on 3
True Swing Golf

Sports games... Not exactly the DS's strongest game genre in relation to number of releases
Some I've played:
Mario Kart - assuming you count racing as a sport, lol
Don King's Boxing - excellent boxing game, nice use of touchscreen
Top spin 3 - I think this is the best tennis DS game
FIFA 11 - this one's more recent

Can't think of anything else, lol.
Hope this helps.
Enjoy.

Genre: Action RPG
Exceptions: Final Fantasy CC, Avalon Code
Other additional info: Preferably I want one that is single player centric

The World Ends With You - This
Zelda - I pray nary a soul jumps in with the old "Zelda is not an RPG" charade

Both of them are stylus controlled, which should fit perfectly into the action RPG mold.

From the abyss - Dungeon crawler. Kind of fun.
Fighting Fantasy - Also a dungeon crawler, but in a FPS standpoint.

I can't think of anything else yet.
Enjoy.

You should try Lunar Knights and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

And if you don't mind playing in Japanese, you can give Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded a go.

Oh, Shinigami357, The Legend of Zelda isn't an RPG.

Eterian Odyessey
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy A2
Disgaea
Etrian Odyssey
Final Fantasy
Pokemon
Dragon Quest
Shin Megami Tensei
Lost Magic
Summon Night: Twin Age
Super Robot Wars

Good thing is most of them can be picked up for fairly cheap now.

I've played all of those, with the exception of From the Abyss, but that looks like crap. Oh well, I got Lufia

Sometimes prayers go unanswered...

Still boggles my mind, though, why some folks stubbornly refuse to freely accept that idea that someone looking for a fun action-RPG might enjoy a Zelda game. Instead, they'd rather pick pepper out of shit.

I want to get some games for my niece, any suggestions for a 6 year old girl?

Ahhh... a game for the kiddies...
Nintendogs - This. Though there are reports that this should be kept away from real dogs.

And, uh, I can't seem to think of anything else for that age group... There are a lot of those kid games on the DS, though...

Genre: RPG
Exceptions: Strategy RPG's
Other additional info: I'm an RPG noob, so I'd prefer an easy one and one with a story that's easy to follow. Thanks

But, but, but... Technically, there aren't any "easy" RPGs. They all end up eating precious hours of your life in the nightmare simply known as "the grind". You've been warned. Tread lightly, and with caution.

And, since I'm done with that disclaimer about there being no easy RPGs, I'll just list some of the best out there. The difficulty pays off, believe me.

The World Ends With You - Perhaps the most original, made just for the DS RPG. Try it out for yourself, and don't listen to others. You'll either love it or hate it. (But you'll love it for sure, LOLz!!!)
Chrono Trigger - Pay homage to the roots of RPGs. This game hasn't aged at all.
Dragon Quest 9 - A slightly different take on the whole turn-based jRPG genre.
Final Fantasy the 4 Heroes of Light - A back-to-basics turn-based jRPG with a twist. Don't let the annoyingly cute (in the right way) graphics fool you. A hardcore RPG.

Upcoming:
Golden Sun Dark Dawn - You can't say you play handheld RPGs if you haven't waited 7 long years for this.

Are the Call of Duty games on the DS any good? Also which one is the best and the most popular for online play?

Genre Strategy (Any type)
Exceptions Advance wars, FFTA2, disgaea ds, super robot taisen, fire emblem.
Other additional info I'm willing to try any new games.

Rondo of Swords - This isn't the traditional "walk next to the enemy and attack" TBS (turn-based strategy) game. You literally walk through your enemies (and allies, for some helpful boosts). Give it a shot.
Knights in the Nightmare - Bullet Hell + RTS + one hell of a tough gaming experience. Really deep, and assuming you can handle a few headaches and frustrations, really fulfilling.
Robocalypse - A full-blown RTS (real-time strategy) game. Complete with resource-gathering, unit-making, "hero" units and taking territory.
Air Traffic Chaos - An RTS/time-management hybrid game. You help planes land, taxi, take off, and most importantly, keep them from crashing. Real fun (IMHO, anyways)

Some I haven't played yet, but is worth a try:

Disgaea DS
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume

Enjoy.
