There is a HUGE lack of fighting games on the DS. I know that this is in the games to buy section, but the best advice for fighting game on the DS that is a time killer is King of Fighters '97 (or any of the others) on NeoDS.

Megami Ibunroku(Shin Megami Tensei) Devil Survivor(strategy).
Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road.
Disgaea DS(strategy).
Chrono Trigger.
Final Fantasy 4.
Phantasy Star 0(action).
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days(action).
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles(both, action).
and Dragon Quest V, to name a few.
