Going on a cruise day after tomorrow with my mum, and I will bring my Switch for myself but thinking of loading my 3DS up with games for her. She likes very simple 80s-90s style games, like Pacman, Tetris and Space Invaders. Nothing with any sort of complex story or game mechanics, or a 3D world. Any recommendations? There's probably loads of indies that would suit her fine but I don't know any! TIA!

Well, my wife likes Galactrix for the DS, it`s simple and fun. Also, if she likes reading, then the Flips! series are pretty good too. And of course, you can`t go wrong with Super Mario Bros. 3 and some Double Dragon for the climax.

What about Ultimate NES Remix? My mum is 73 and loves it.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! Will download them all when I get home!

In 3D titles she gets confused about where she is and what she is supposed to be doing, and feels lost ... It's a bit confusing for her. She might be ok with something like Mario 3D Land since each level is very small and linear, will have to see if she likes it

Animal Crossing is just a small sim with only one town. It's really simplistic, and you can really lose yourself playing it.

Something that worked well back when you could have user playlists in games was to go rip a bunch of their CDs and shove that into said playlist.

Crashmo also. I think there was another in the series.
The Picross games might also be a good option. Again my mum loves them.
Picross 3D and all the different variations of Picross and Pokémon Shuffle.

Sudoku or crossword puzzle games if she's into that kind of games. There's also Kami, Sumico, Wakedas, Slice It!, quell memento & reflect, NightSky, Subara City, Pazuru,

Mononoke Forest has pretty simple game play. Also Plantera, Pikmin, and The Battle Cats POP!.

Brunch Panic and Johnny's Payday Panic if she's into Diner Dash like games.

Kersploosh! is another simple time waster where you drop different things down a well.

Freakyforms Deluxe or Art Academy series.

She might also like Disney Magical World series.

Box Boy series is pretty simple and fun.

Mario Party games might be good too.

What about something like Retro Game Challenge for the DS? Do you have a DS flashcart she could use?
