Hello Tempers! I am making this thread to inform you all about a really cool TV series. It's called Game Center CX. Have any of you already heard of it? Basically, every episode, a Japanese comedian Shinya Arino, often referred to as "The Kacho" (the Japanese word for 'Chief'), is given an old video game. Most of them are NES or SNES games. He then has all day to try to beat the game. He's not actually very good at games, but he always tries hard and many times manages to get through the game. If he gets stuck, he can receive help from other members of the show's staff, called AD's (Assistant Directors). The show includes many other segments that keep things interesting, such as visits to various arcades around Japan.

The show is in Japanese, but there is an ongoing effort to sub all the episodes into English. The subs are very well done. A significant amount of them have already been subbed. These translated episodes can be found at:

If you don't think you want to watch an episode in Japanese, there are 12 episodes that have been dubbed in English, provided by Kotaku. They go under the title "Retro Game Master". Some people don't like them because they don't include the extra segments of the show, but I enjoy them anyway. I would recommend the Ninja Gaiden episode. These episodes can be found at:

Also, this page has some useful information about the show and its various segments.

This has been coming up a lot recently because of the 3DS swapnote stationery. I've never heard about it before that, either.
Thanks for the info! I'll check it out. (:

Been watching this show for years, its great stuff :) You new people to it don't have to put up with how it was originally, with 6 months between translations, lol
Yeah, that must have been bad. I first found about the show when Kotaku started to create the dubbed "Retro Game Master" versions.
