Game-breaking bug found in Metroid: Other M

As far as i know when this happen you need to copy your savefile to another slot and then the door should open again!

It´s still a massive bug though...

Wait so you've got to beat the boss on your 3rd time then save? Well you must really suck if it takes you 3 tries to beat a boss

...It doesn't mean 3rd attempt, you actually have to fight the boss 3 times throughout the game.
The glitch didn't happen to me but there's a decent chance of this happening to anyone.

I didn't encounter this glitch.
Nintendo really should have made cut-scenes have the option to be skipped. It would be really annoying to encounter this glitch and being forced to watch all the cut-scenes again.

Hmph...he mentioned the possibility of the firmware update affecting the game, but I'm curious how that would even be possible. It seems unlikely, which is a shame, since that would lay the blame at the doorstep of Team Ninja. In spite of losing Itagaki, I still want to see them do well. Hopefully, this doesn't end up biting them in the ass.

It may be possible. If they added a Gecko OS-style on-the-fly patcher to the System Menu's disc loading code, and made a patch which fixes the bug, it could be done. Essentially they'd need to do virtually the same thing as Gecko OS does anyway, but make a code which would fix the issue (perhaps by checking certain variables and if the boss has been beaten, force the variable which dictates whether the door is open or not to be open). I think this should be possible (can't see why not in this case, with something that one would assume should be a relatively simple fix?)

link seems to be hearing messages in his head
this issue also appeared in another recently famous game which is forgotten sands where if u would fall in a big gap on the floor, the game would allow u to pass through a certain door... maybe if u used a trainer or something which one would if he used skidrow crack (which may hint tht big names need quicker releases even though Metroid took quite long)

Oh well, something like this happened in Twilight Princess too.
Wasn't there a game breaking bug in Paper Mario (Wii) too? Seems like they're getting sloppy.

Takeshi! I've never seen you in a year! I think.

Well, lots of games have bugs in them, and some happen to be game-breaking.

What was the bug in Paper Mario Wii?

Hehe, yeah, I'm not posting that often since I'm quite busy studying.

Here's more info on the Paper Mario Bug (apparently only the EU version was affected): EU Super Paper Mario Problems
