QUOTE(zoharmodifier @ Sep 14 2006, 01:52 PM)holy crap-- NDS/GBA linkage!? is that what i think it is?

If you're thinking getting the secret stuff from Megaman Battle Network DS with a Megaman BN GBA cart linked... yes.

Going to update in a few minutes, if that nds -> gba link works fine again, thats a update that was worth waiting for

Thanks g6/m3 team! and Thanks Luinwen for the rapidshare link!

Download it under the two little images between the | |.
Its in a box by itself.

And harvest moon works on G6 lite with No Trim and Safemode.

I got Harvest Moon to work with Soft Reset, DoFat, Trim ROM. Same with Mario Hoops 3 on 3, Mega Man ZX and LEGO Star Wars II, though Star Wars didn't work with Soft Reset on my first try (if anyone has, quote me and speak on it).

Yup.. everything is in english.. (save for the site you download it from probably) =p

i'm curious though, so it's just the U-Disk manager that needs updating?

Oh so there's no firmware update to go with this? I think my firmware is 1 version behind the most recent one.

Sweet! installed the 4.4 G6 U-Disk update:
(just the u-disk software; running firmware v4.3a)

Im confirming that these work and save (doFAT+rom trim):

Mario Hoops
Cooking Mama
Harvestmoon DS
Megaman ZX (finally saves!

Totally stoked. The G6 team has the quickness!
is there a newer firmware?

I can confirm the GBA Link feature worked fine, here's the steps i used for the following game.

Create Directory "Castlevania"

Place inside: 0999 - Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow.gba
Place inside: 0121 - Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow (U).nds

Wrote: 0999 - 0999 - Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow.gba -> Options Default (Nothing Changed)
Wrote: 0121 - Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow (U).nds -> DoFat + Software Reset
Inside the "Linkage" tab, Check "NDS/GBA Linkage enable" and if you have the .gba game in the same directory
of the .nds file, a new box with the game name will appear, i clicked on this so it was highlighted, then i choose ok to write.

Started g6:

Saves Do Not Work:
MyCard -> GBA -> Highlighted 0999 - Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow.gba -> Pressed X -> Loaded
MyCard -> NDS -> Highlighted 0121 - Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow (U).nds -> Clicked -> Run

Saves Work Fine:
MyCard -> GBA -> Highlighted 0999 - Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow.gba -> Pressed X -> Loaded
Go back to the "NDS Game" tab, and load the game.

Started a new Game, Checked inventory and "Rare Ring" was listed under Equip -> Arms -> Accessory

Thanks g6 Team!

That's totally cool. Is there a list of DS games that support the link feature? It would be rad if Star Wars 2 DS could link with Star Wars 1 GBA.

I found a list of linkage games on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ninte...ith_GBA_linkage

Crap looks like there's nothing good at all. More games should make use of this function, in Lego Star Wars 2 for PS2 you unlock all of the prequel characters if you have a save on the card from Lego Star Wars 1, now that is an awesome feature!

ah crap.... this all happened about 5 mins after I left for work... wish I could play lsw2 on the bloody tube.. will have to wait until tomorrow now.. =(

** YES ** BUT IT DOES NOT SAVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything works fine if you don't turn off the NDS.
When you restart the NDS, it simply acts like the game was never loaded and nothing is written to the "0" file at all.
And the game that you started is gone. If there was a previous save there *BEFORE* using the DS-GBA link, it's still there, as the "0" file is never written to AFTER loading up a linked game.

Tried Linkage on Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Both work flawless!
COOL!!!!

and its prolly a simple bug for them to fix.

hey, am trying to link harvest moon ds with harvest moon friends of mineral town gba. Can someone please give me a hand, i can't seem to get it to work. When I'm on the gba/nds linkage tab, the gba game doesn't show up. Thanks!

Once, you Save the game after using NDS/GBA Linkage.
Boot back to G6 Menu. Hightlight the NDS Game u just SAVED, push Select and choose SRAM ->Default. Then load the game again the normal way, and the unlocked items will be there!

If you've already got a previous SAVE file for the game, make sure to back it up first. (Default->1 or 2)
There's always a solution for something.
