I tried chargin the capacitor but that didn't work...
I suppose I should try opening up mine to look too...

EDIT: My sister did a check: my g6 had several "invalid time stamps" so she did a repair and reformatted the whole thing and put the latest firmware. So far it seems to have worked.

EDIT 2: Mario Kart and several other roms not working. Looks like I'm going to need a new flash cart...
