This could literally be done with Atmosphere and simply replacing the reboot_payload since 0.8.3.

Why take that time when I can use this app to load the payload without having to "Shutdown -> Take out SD -> Put SD in comp -> Swap payload -> Insert into switch -> boot with injector of choice"

From six steps to like 2 or 3: "HBL -> Fusee-Starter -> Payload"

You are conflating things.

To rename and upload a file - once, you use ftp like a normal person. Takes about 15 seconds. And is one time only.

The "take sdcard out" portion was listed, to let you all know that booting into hekate can be used to actually take your SDcard out to load big files onto it, then reinsert it again, and launch into atmosphere via hekate -

which means you can remove the sdcard without shutting down the system, or needing an injector dongle to restart your switch. (Prior to this method, removing the SDcard would have always shut down the switch.)

But thank you for confusing everyone.

1. This is not new.
2. This is mostly useful for what I've layed out.
3. Yes it is more convenient with app for noobs.

But this will also mean, that they will never update it and use old hekate from now on till the end of time. Then something will break (newer firmware), then they will hit up the project lead here again, ....

This is the crux with starting to "bundle" software. People get reliant on bundles. Thats it. No one wins.. ;)

because you would be using argon nx which lets you select any payload

0 extra steps

Very good and I`m sure people will find it useful.

Just remember people that this will NOT cold-boot you to CFW from being turned off. You will still need a modchip / jig / dongle.

But yeah... Good work.

If you are changing or upgrading a payload, sure this app is probably useless for you. BUT It seems like this app was made for those who don't want to change, but need to boot into a different payload than Atmosphere's default reboot_payload. So why would I grab my injector and SDCard reader when I can just load this up, select my .bin file, and go to town on whatever it was I was doing?

Because you can change the reboot payload once to argon nx and have the same functionality without having to install shovel ware homebrew.

That's a chainloader. Which is loaded once and then you need to reinject. This app is completely different..

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

change the reboot payload once to argon nx
You can do that too, which is why Hekate was included I'd assume.

So the idea for the app is good, and its important to stay positive towards contributors. I would just say instead of packing the payloads in the nro, there should really be a UI to select a specific payload from a default location so that we don't need to constantly update this application everytime there is a new payload release.

Keep up the good effort thom.

I was wondering if anyone can help me with my switch ok I recently updated my switch to the latest firmware (7.1) with choiDujour so i loaded into hetake and i went and turned OFF AutoRcm then went back to the menu and powered off now it will not power on when i put into the dock the tv is on for 0.1 milliseconds I used every button combo Mattytrog I saw you help that one guy

Legit just put argon nx as the reboot payload and boom
boot any payload
not just what's hard coded into the nro

Using the standard reboot to payload homebrew within Atmosphere, how would I change it to boot a payload of my choice ? I'm assuming I need to rename whichever payload I want it to boot, but to what and what is the file location I need to put it in ?

Thanks

thanks for the tool.
even if there's no need for most users, it'll always be nice to have choices and different way to do things.
the only problem is that you need to manually recompile to update included payloads. if you can update it to read and launch bin directly from SD instead of ROMFS, it'll be argonNX compatible. and you'll have a nro to launch payloads, instead of reboot to launch payload.
there's maybe no use, but why not? some people might prefer going to homebrew instead of holding power. like yuo said, it allows users to keep the "reboot_payload.bin" to atmosphere to reboot directly without hekate or argon screen, and manually allows user to boot another payload from homebrew.

choice is always good.
doing things (even if it exists and/or is done better by others) will help you learn and understand what you do for future projects. keep doing what you want, don't worry about bad comments.
if users find it useless, they can just not use it.

Personally, I prefer your tool, because when I update atmosphere it always replace files with the default/provided reboot_payload.bin and you have to remember to re-replace it with argonNX.
having an external homebrew reloading payload fix this issue. But I'd prefer if it allows me to loads external payloads instead of ROMFS.

It's the same problem with the ini file, which doesn't contain my own titleID used to boot homebrew. I have to replace it, or actually remember not to replace all files to keep my loader.ini, but it's not easy to skip single fils when you just extract the full package on your SD.

Fusee-STARTER - Payload launcher on Atmosphère 0.8.3+

Description :

Fusee-STARTER is a sort of modded version of Reboot-To-Payload from Atmosphère-NX.

It can launch (fusee, hekate, argonNX) from ams 0.8.3+.
All payloads are included in the nro, that mean no others file are needed to launch them (base payload).

Sources :

Check github https://github.com/Thomleg50/fusee-starter/.
Sorry the code isn't really profesionnal.

Releases :

You can get release on Github : https://github.com/Thomleg50/fusee-starter/releases/.

If you have any suggestion of payload , please make an issue.
Thanks
Nice

Payloads included?
So... what happens when there are new payloads...?
Have to wait for you to update the nro?
Would've been easier to just point the app to the payloads on SD, since they are there anyway if you use those.
