I also think it still does in windows 7 as well. it may be the cable is it a data cable? if the cable is really thin then it may not work like me i'm using a usb type C adapter made for the google pixel 2 and a amazon fire stick micro usb cable to plug my switch into the computer and it works just fine.

I used a raspberry pi 3 with latest raspbian (stretch) installed libusb-1.0.0-dev and setup pyusb, grabbed all needed files and it works great. long term i want to setup a service that detects when a nvidia device is connected and run the payload automatically. keep the dongle in the side, undock and connect to pi and press buttons, boot into cfw and then redock for as handsfree/automated as i can get.

So it's just a short press and RCM will be enabled if done correctly. And here I was, holding the power and vol.up button for >5secs before realizing.

God damn it, I just wasted almost 17eur on a god damn USB C to USB A cable from goodis brand.

But it feels like Christmas today as the triwing tools just arrived that I bought from eBay on China, I thought it would take another month.

failoverflow claim their exploit works on EHCI with a kernel hack. I believe the problem is that the standard EHCI driver limits the message size & you need to remove that limit.
Ah, that's good to know for people with older hardware, although I think picking up a rPi is always a good move.

You would have to find out about your mac's usb controller and if it supports xhci as it was introduced around 7 years ago.
Thanks,
"Host Controller Driver: AppleUSBEHCIPCI"
...sounds like bad news (EHCI != xHCI). However...

I have a pi 3 so this is great to know!
