Does it enable any game launched with the disc channel to use the IOS chosen?

Previously, I patched MPT D9 to run under IOS249 from the disc channel (rev9 was installed) and it worked like a charm. Set was a softmodded one using cioscorp 1.01

I was wondering, can games like SSBB be patched to run under cios222, GH5 to run under cios223? Of course the IOSes must be present in the system first..

222 and 223 are made from a real IOS. do you think hermes went out of his way to remove the stuff from them to be able to load dvd?

Real IOS's can't read DVD backups. Isn't that the whole point of there being a dip module added to cIOS's? Anyway, I'd heard that they don't read DVD's various times so unless something's changed as of late...

Looked through the uLoader thread. So apparently IOS222/223 can do it after all. But existing loaders (Softchip, NeoGamma, etc) would error out if you tried since they behave differently or somesuch.

Yay new stuff learned today

AFAIK the custom DIP is in Hermes' USB loader rather than IOS222/223 itself. And that's why no other loaders can use it for backup discs.
