I want to ask something guys.
Do we need both devices on the same region.

My devices are:
Source: New 3DS XL USA
Target: Old 3DS EUROPE

Can i cfw my old 3ds europe by this method using an acecard2i and new 3ds xl usa version?

I finally got it. I just had to do what I do when I play my Atari 7800 -- pour a gallon of rubbing alcohol into it. The flashing software has to read both the ID and version correctly in order for it to work, btw. The software can get version 81818181 and still not read the ID correctly (the first four should probably be zeros, they were on mine anyway). You can find out your actual ID by running any official AK2i update (you can cancel the update, just get the numbers that show up at the top of the screen). That way you'll know if it's being read correctly. The first time I got it to flash, the title changed and all, but it still didn't work. Now that I finally got it flashed right, it works well. Tested with an O3DS and N3DS running A9LH. The "boot.firm" works. Seems easier on the N3DS -- all the buttons are close together, and it doesn't require as strong of a magnet.

Also, I find it best to boot into the software before inserting the cart. And I also had to reboot after dumping before I was able to successfully inject.

Just update to version 0.1.2 and the issues are fixed.

I'm kinda confused. Why do we either have to use Powersaves or a CFW-ed 3DS to flash something to the cart? Can't we just put the necessary data on the MicroSD card from a computer?
It holds the cart's kernel, after all...
...is that not how it's supposed to work? I don't know if mine is a clone, it looks really similar (yet not quite identical) to the R4i Gold 3DS cart.
Official R4i Gold RTS should have this URL printed on the cart:

http://www.r4ids.cn/

If is another address is a Fake card.

My real question: is this cart close enough to the R4i Gold 3DS to be supported?

Sorry, I had that last line sitting there unsaved for about an hour. It is a different address.
I guess I can't use mine for ntrhax, then?
...at least it works for its intended purpose.
Because flashing is like re programming for chips, put a file on SD card will not do a thing unless you have a tool that write to the chip.

Ok.
...so I still can't get CFW/Boot9Strap unless I get a powersave? ...and a new flashcart?
Hey, I didn't even buy that one, it made its way into my possession from someone who got it with a DSi on eBay or something, so... you get what you pay for?

Yes it holds the firm but not the kernel or other way around when you update the card its flashed into the chip itself same as this and the launcher just cant run itself within the card alonw since it would be trying to write itself over completely.

It's the "Pandora Battery" of the 3DS. Hardware of the device setting the exploit up and device being exploited is irrelevant. You just need any already-exploited system to flash the cart. Once it's flashed, you can use it to install B9S on any 3DS in existence. I used my USA N3DS to set it up, but I've successfully got it to work on a USA O3DS and an AUS N3DS, so, it should work just fine.

Though I personally prefer making the "boot.firm" payload Godmode9 instead of Safe B9S Installer on the target. Godmode9 has chainloading now. So, it can run Safe B9S Installer, and then afterward run a script that sets up a conventional chainloader and CFW(s). No second trip to the PC. I'm planning to automate this like I have the A9LH to B9S process in my next AIO pack. I'm working on a script per chainloader that will just copy the desired one to "boot.firm" for you, then deletes itself and the other scripts. So, you can simply run one of those once B9S is setup. If GM9 had a "run" command, I could even eliminate the need to locate Safe B9S Installer on the card.

EDIT: Scratch that. I think I'll just include a "boot.firm.bak" with each configuration. So, there's still a copy of the original there when "boot.firm" gets overwritten by the installer, and then the script can just copy it back. No need to specify which configuration you're using and no need for multiple scripts.

That seems to be an R4i Gold clone, actually.
It's actually perfectly identical to mine. That's why I can so quickly say it's a clone- I discovered that earlier on this thread.
Since it's a clone, it's hard to say if it'll work or get bricked without actually trying it. At least, it's hard for me to say, because I hardly know anything about it.
If you do try to use that for ntrboothax, please let me know the result (on this thread, via PM, whatever). I don't have a way to flash anything onto mine, but it'd be nice to know whether or not doing so will brick the card. Despite being a clone, it still serves its purpose as a nds flashcart quite well, so I would rather avoid bricking it.

Same Issue with me,didn't want to brick the card . So far I got reply from Shroomalistic (https://gbatemp.net/threads/ntrboot-is-out.480586/page-14#post-7519141)
Who said he tried and it didn't work unfortunately

Bored today want to test NTRbootHax but:

Guessing these are all useless?

The purple ones in particular, though on the website they have an updated revision that states RTS on and mine dont so i guess theyre no use?

I also have gateway red and blue but according to max console the blue card isnt firmware updatable.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: rummaged a bit further and found an R4i 3DS RTS that seems to look like the ones everyone says is compatible :)

Hey guys I tried looked around for people who are selling these r4 cards since my one was a fake and found someone claiming that he has one r4i gold 3ds rts, is it legit ? I've noticed that there is a label that states the version of the card, but everything else seems pretty much the same.

Hey everyone what's the good word? I'm having a bit of a problem. I've flashed my acekard 2i and got my magnets ready but every time I put the magnet in place and press the button combination both screens stay black and the console powers down whenever I remove the magnets or stop holding down the buttons. The ackard is recognized by the 3ds and the system turns on fine. Any suggestions would be immensely appreciated!

Are the files on the SD card correct? You need boot.firm which is SafeB9SInstaller renamed.
