NO ONE CARES ABOUT ARTSIST ANYMORE AND THAT HURTS

Last edited by Cranesbill,
It's like someone using a ghost writer and everyone knows and knows who the ghost writer is.
I've used ai generated images to create a scene for writing just to give me an idea of how to go about describing the scene and such.
I thought that was how it was supposed to be used.

That's one of the few exceptions, but now more and more are using it as the lazy route and treat like real crap on par with real work people have done

I think of AI like how Amazon affected brick and mortar.

AI gives people the opportunity to code, paint a picture, animate, voice characters, write a book, produce a 3D model, etc. with minimal payout. It can be used as a starting point or a fast route to a complete product.

For example, the person that organized the Willy Wonka Experience ("Willy's Chocolate Experience") in Glasgow sells/sold books written by AI. (The content was gibberish.) The advertisements for the Wonka event itself were similarly AI generated and contained gibberish.

Companies absolutely want to use AI. It doesn't ask for royalties or health insurance. It's cheaper to do any and all of the things mentioned above, and big tech is investing a lot of money into its development right now. Billions are being spent, and there's competition among international tech companies.

I have so many questions that can only be answered over time. Will celebrities be asked to sign over their voice for future projects? (For example, would the voice actress for Marge Simpson take an AI deal to stay as the voice of Marge while not further damaging her vocals?) Will there be more work strikes in Hollywood over this? Will The Terminator become real? The less questions about video game development, the less my head hurts.

Opportunity, yes, but now it's being exploited to what you said with businesses preferring this as a cheap labor strategy than hiring actual employees who worked hard to get their talents, only to be outed by a machine

If you don't like it, don't use it... Simple as.

I like Ai art generation because I can get ideas out of my head into something I can see, as I'm not artistically gifted, and I don't have to pay an artist or constantly contact them to adjust things to death. Ai is a tool for me that makes life much easier. I can crank out concept art of things I want, like designing box art for Gameboy homebrew.

You need to get back to reality

Easier said than done when everyone's too intrigued by the way AI is doing

Sketching

But here's the thing, everyone else has that same mindset and my biggest concern is that eventually it's gonna become the norm, an over-reliance affecting a large group of individuals

Not too mention that AI art literally steals existing drawings from other artists

The question is, do you see people becoming apathetic, like how they are with "live-action" movies being mostly CG?
