Hacking Frozen in Time

My buddy just called me saying that when he selects a channel the wii will freeze on up on him. Says he still has control of the sd card icon, message center, and all the jazz. But, he can't select channels.
This is about all I know at the time.

there was a pre\priloader hack that blocked loading channels maybe thats it?

We got it figured out. Had him use Modmii so he could bootmii running to get into the homebrew channel.
I think it had something to do with him adding a custom theme, because as soon as he reinstalled the orginal, it worked fine.
