So im following the steps from 3ds.hack.guide and I was preparing my SD CARD. I could download everything except the frogcert.bin I tried to open the link but I wouldn't work so I googled for the problem and couldn't find anything just another guide (frogminer.guide) where it said (You will need a torrent client like deluge or qbittorent to download the file). I don't know what that is but I searched for qbittorent and downloaded it. But somehow it still doesn't work... I use a macbook could someone please help me out? I would be so thankful!
yea I did download qbitorrent and double clicked on the link and than it says 'open with qbitorrent?' I click yes than that program opens but with nothing to download or anything..

and yea ofc I installed it..
Try right clicking on the link on the guide and select "copy link destination" (or whatever "copy" it lets you depending on OS and browser), then go on qBitTorrent and click on the icon "Add Torrent Link" (under "File"), then hit "download". It probably just doesn't fetch the magnet link properly for some reason, so do it like that manually and it will work just fine, happens sometimes.

i do have another question tho
at number 7. its says: Copy the steelhax folder from the Steelhax .rar to the root of your SD card.
and 8.: Copy the otherapp payload to the steelhax folder on your SD card and rename it to payload.bin
so when I downloaded steelhax it wasn't a folder just a .rar (which I can't open) and I was thinking if I should create a new folder to the roots and rename it steelhax and copy the other app payload into the folder?
do u think it'll work?
Good to hear it worked, happens often to me too, reason I don't really like qBT (along with some other reasons irrelevant to this all). Just keep that solution in mind should it happen again, most often it's when either the internet connection is too slow or the HDD of the computer reads/writes below average at that one moment.
Moving on, to open .rar files, you need to get either WinRAR or 7zip (both will work but 7zip can only open .rar files, not repackage into .rar, while WinRAR can't even open 7zip files, so I suggest just having both, each for their own purposes). You have to open the .rar/.7zip files as they are compressed and inside you will find the files/folders listed in the instructions. I gotta say though, weird you are missing so many key programs from your computer...

well.. something must have went wrong /: since I did everything step by step and tried to open sub dive and it says 'an error has occurred, forcing the software to close. The system will now restart.
Unfortunately, I have no experience with command line on Mac, so can't help you there, as 7zip doesn't support Mac and WinRAR only has command-line version (no GUI). You will have to wait for someone else to help you, especially since you will need to do a lot of .rar/.7zip opening to complete the guide...
okay i kinda get it now I watched a lil from a youtube video.. I will need to do this on a windows computer.. ill just use my brothers. but do you think it is fine if I just delete everything I downloaded on the sd card and start the whole process new on the other computer? or will it be a problem? /:
As long as you haven't done anything on the 3DS other than move files to the SD card, it's perfectly fine to start over, don't worry about it, it's safe. Once you start installing stuff on the 3DS is where it starts getting tricky with removing files from the SD card. If you get stuck, just post about it on here and me or someone else will probably answer within a hour/a couple hours.
