Money Theft is free on Steam via Gleam.io giveaway (around 2000 keys are being given away).
Note: Only Discord login is required in order to join a certain server and entries for those CSGO loot giveaways (just pick one of them, like checking the post on Twitter or something and that will be enough), everything else is optional (no need to create an account). It took me less than 2 minutes to claim the game.

This is a weird one: Arcadegeddon is free on Epic Games Store right now, but there's another version of the game that you can claim and overwrite the "old" (if you already have it in your library) and get 5000 AR coins. The one in question is the one on top, as shown in the image bellow:

I've tried it on my XBOX One and it's not free (right now, at least).
I did find that CoD 4 Variety Map Pack and Split/Second "The Elite" Vehicle Livery Pack are free and can be claimed without having the base games.

Some people on Reddit are saying it is appearing as "Install" on the Xbox Store, but not going to their libraries. Here's what someone there said:

The official announcement from the developer mentions Steam, GOG, and Xbox. If you go to the game's Xbox page from a browser though the game will not show up as free. This was brought up in the comments and the developer's reply was:

"just checked this- if you go through to the game page itself the button will change to "install" - not sure why it comes up as full price on the search navigation."

I went to the game page on my Xbox One X and it indeed said "install" and is installing for me right now. However, it doesn't show up in my games collection. So, I am not certain whether Xbox actually counted it as owned by me now like Steam and GOG did? Or maybe it did and it just takes a bit for the "owned games" list to update?

Regardless, it is worth getting it (Especially considering that it is only 8GB) and checking two days later to see if one still owns it!"

Blythe, found someone saying this: "go to your Xbox Console and search for Metro Redux after that compare editions then select the game again then it’ll let you install". So hopefully this helps you with getting the game.

True enough! It's installing right now, will report back whether it remains in my library. Thanks a lot!

EDIT: It seems like I've run into the same issue as the other guy you've mentioned in your post (just like this). The game starts and runs fine, but I do see the warning sign in the bottom right corner of the game tile which probably means that I don't have a license for this game? We'll see if it'll stop working sometime in the future.
