Want me to post about just free games or about giveaway contests too?

Not on steam and neither on gog I've 3 suggestions for multiplayer fps fans:

Xonotic
An open source arena FPS based upon a modernized Quake 1 engine, it can be described with "quake feeling with unreal tournament weapon combos"

Renegade X
A fan made game, authorised by EA till it's free, with the aim to recreate and improve from ground up the c&c: Renegade shooter that failed a long time ago.

Project Reality
A standalone Battlefield 2 Total Conversion that does miracles with its 12 years old engine. PR is a large scale 50v50 tactical fps with a really strict set of rules (manual reading is necessary), with maps inspired by some real life warfare, military roleplaying at its best!

How is this post any relevant to this thread? This thread is about game giveaways and generally freebies for things that otherwise are paid, not for freemium games.

It is relevant since this is free stuff, not freemium nor f2p, plain free, so it is more than pertinent for a "free games thread"

They are still ALWAYS free, which makes them invalid in the context of this thread. Again, this thread is for things that AREN'T free all the time but are having giveaways or whatever making the temporarily free. If we were to start listing every even half-decent free PC game there wouldn't be an end to the list.

It IS specified clearly in the OP, but you obviously didn't bother to read it. It's the very first paragraph before the big heads up messages...
Since I haven't seen anything like it on this forum, I decided to start a thread where people can post links to the games that go free for a short period of time, be it straight from Steam or from other sites offering keys. I will be posting links to the ones I know of, so anyone who knows about other games being temporarily free and are for keeps rather than just free weekends or stuff like that can post a link.

Are you serious? No trolling here... Instead of going full BS just evaluate and discuss my post, I'm pretty sure gamers on the cheap looking for alternatives will appreciate it.

First paragraph of the first post, i suggest you to re-read it.
And if you really wasn't trolling, i apologize for that.

Do you really insist I was trolling? Where's the trolling? I don't get it... Just go check every post I did and you will always see a polite comment as the ones in this post, I didn't insult neither I was harsh to anyone, there is nothing I've to apologize to

Amnesia Collection, which includes Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Amnesia: A machine for Pigs, is free on Humble Bundle for a limited time
Grab it while you can!
1 hour and 15 minutes left!
The time remaining is different for me.

Old drama but, I kinda love how you realised one of your arguments were invalid and because you’re too stubborn to seemingly admit or apologise for you insinuated that the OP was misleading the nth number of people who view this thread which is false and you did try jamming that down his throat a lil, so just a heads up on what you could’ve apologised for but you instantly tried to bite onto the “I wasn’t trolling” part. Love it.

I'd like if we brought scene releases back to the front page >.> I really dunno why they were taken away.
I thought about this, but there's really not a reason to bring it back, because in those old days there were ways to load games on everything, so you could post any game releasing. Nowadays, it'd just be tantamount to announcing PC game cracks and the rare 3DS game, or you could announce all the games, but it'd be like a release calander. I'd like to see it come back, but I can't see it being useful, I guess?

Don't know what that was honestly. Was it something like a list of games released for each system in any given week or month? GameFAQs had such a thing from what I remember, but especially with how many indies there are nowadays (on PC mainly), it would be impossible to keep proper track of them all...
