Hacking Flashcards without spring loading for the micro sd card?

I think my R4 is on it's final legs as it's really difficult to insert the micro sd card because the spring loader keeps popping it out.

Luckily I just got my Acekard 2i for my new DSi and it doesn't use a spring loader. I was thinking of just getting rid of my dying R4 and getting another Acekard, but I'm broke right now.

What other flash cards use a basic insert slot like the Acekard?

An Acekard 2 (not 2i) costs ~$11 at DX and doesn't have the spring (though they're generally good quality compared to R4/M3S springs).

Well, CycloDS doesn't have the spring-loaded mechanism.

The EDGE is a good option. It has a similar GUI to the R4DS/M3 Simply which I recommend.

I've heard people opening their cart once their spring has already broken and taking out the spring bending back a piece of metal (there were no pictures) so that you can still play on your cart without the spring.

I would recommend the CycloDS Evolution for this.
It's build quality is amazing, I never had any problems with it.
The Real Time Save works brilliantly, the menu's are quick and responsive, the support is very good.
It can play multimedia files with Moonshell perfectly, has cheat support, responsive menu's, ....
It's well worth the extra money if you ask me.
