I'm using a Sandisk 4gb flash drive, and I wanted to know if there's anyway that I can increase it's capacity/memory (not sure what it should be called). If not, I would like to know where the other 'bout 0.3gb went with my flash drive, because I format it and it stays at around 3.7gb.

If that's not possible, I would like to know if it's possible to increase it's capacity/memory with another Sandisk 4gb flash drive.
Thanks, I really appreciate it :)

Sure, just get another TSOP NAND flash of the same type, check out the pinouts, solder accordingly, and reprogram the flash memory controller to tell it that there's more space now.

Easy answer: Nope, sorry

And that 0.3gbs are sacrificed to the Filesystem's needs. There are other filesystems using less overhead than FAT, but you can't use them on your Wii.

Hard drive and flash memory manufactures call 4,000,000,000 bytes 4GB. Windows calls 4,294,967,296 bytes 4GB. Windows sees there is only 4,000,000 bytes and calls your flash drive 3.7GB.

Way to not add to the topic at all. Everybody else, thanks. And yeah, I'm trying to increase it for my Wii.
Thanks for the information.

Yes, but I didn't post a reply that would not add onto the topic whatsoever. Such as something bland and unnecessary as 'No.'

I would ask of an admin to close this, as it has been answered. Thank you.
