So I was thinking of Jailbreaking my Ipod touch but I'm still a bit scared that it will 'Brick' (if that is called the same like on the wii) or I will do it wrong. So I will first ask it on the Temp ^^. A few question

1. How do I Jailbreak my Ipod Touch (on a Mac)
2. Is it safe ??
3. Can I Destroy my Ipod ??
4. How to get apps for free ?? (or can't ask that ) (not where BTW)
5. I heard some things about emulators :D I'd like to hear more about that

Already Thanks for your time

KuRensan.

1. What iPod touch make/FW have you got?
2. Yep
3. It's impossible to brick an iPod touch or an iPhone
4. Not allowed to tell you, against the site rules
5. On the Jailbreak appstore (Cydia) there are lost of emulators you can download. Just put the roms in and you're set to go ;)

1. Depends on firmware. Up to date anything below iOS 4.3 can be jailbroken untethered, below iOS 5.0 tethered.

2. Although crashes might occur on your device, it is perfectly safe to jailbreak

3. It won't. Your iDevice might crash at some times though.

4. Against the rules. But I can tell you that there's one necessary package in cydia to download, that's all I can say.

5. Just like what alidsl said.

Hope that helps.

Uhm does tethered mean I have to turn on my Ipod with my PC ?? because I need to do that (I hope that'll gt fixed ^^)
Turn on with iPod connected, yes.

There's also semi tethered for iOS 5, you can go search it yourself for more info. I haven't done a tethered jb before so I can't really give exact details.

Thanks ^^ semi tether works.

EDIT: Nevermind -.- Jailbroken apps don't work anymore now

you probably rebooted it. You'll have to rejail break it.
KuRensan just need to perform a tethered boot with redsn0w. No need for rejailbreaking (which would still require another tethered boot).

so as long as it remains on it will stay jailbroken? i just got an iphone 3g and i want to jailbreak it.
The iPhone 3G has untethered jailbreaks. If you meant the iPhone 3GS, unfortunately it's limited to a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1 (unless you got your hands on a really old one).
